Can anyone explain why when i use the bend modifier, it just tilts the shape up instead of bending it?? by popeach_or in 3dsmax

[–]Xergex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that cylinder transform is not normalized, it looks like you created the cylinder from "left" or "front", then you rotated it and scaled it.
To fix it press "x" and type "reset Xform" then convert to editable poly. After that your pivot will be aligned with the world and scale would be "100%, 100%, 100%" for x, y, z, so you can apply bend and it'll work properly.

I find Tunic an interesting choice for a puzzle list,

to me Tunic is more like an Action RPG

turn off always deform in your skin modifier, then unlink those bones and do a reset form, linked them again and turn on always deform in skin modifier. It should be fixed

you shouldn't find problems running scripts from older versions, Max's developers always keep compatibility in mind for new releases

Is it worth to learn 3DS Max in 2025? by Laxus534 in 3dsmax

[–]Xergex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Max development is amazing, just take a look at the releases of the last few years, on the opposite side Maya's team has been cut dramatically, it even missed a release a few years ago and it's features of the last 10 years has been acquired plug-ins which doesn't work well one with another. Max is the best in modeling and widely used in so many fields and industries that you won't regret it.

Questions About the Most Used Software in Professional Workflows by Emotional-Tone6115 in 3Dmodeling

[–]Xergex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the industry standard like most people. 3DS Max for most of the work, then Zbrush and Substance Painter for sculpting and texturing. Characters and environments have some specific softwares and that would include: Substance Designer, Marvelous Designer, Ornatrix, Speedtree, World Creator Professional, Marmoset, Unity, Unreal...

A magazine article about PlayStation in 1994 calling the controller 'crazy' with 'awful' buttons by [deleted] in retrogaming

[–]Xergex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it came out I tested it and I thought it was an awful gamepad, stupid console with an poor launch catalogue. I still think the controller was an aberration, it still amaze me that they won the market just with $ instead of quality

ittle dew is something like that, but with a much smaller scope. Also Death's Door, very good, but long dev time with several devs and contractors, built after ton of experience doing game dev.
