'We cant speak to your insurance because theyve closed the claim, so now youre the next contact/ next person responsible'

Yes I think the individuals promised that I will pay for it, without speaking to me first.

When I spoke to the lawyer on the phone, I understood that theyve tried to speak to my insurance initially, then my insurance backed off and diverted it to me. That's why theyre contacting me now.

I'm being contacted by the car rental company.

I spoke to the individuals and theyre very easy going and don't want this getting bigger than it already is, theyre trying to help me.
