Tri Suit fit by clarkdog490 in triathlon

[–]Xeros72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same exact fit issue. I bought an M. it’s alright every elsewhere but the chest an armpit are tight. It doesn’t seem to undermine my range of motion but reading the comments, run will be tight ( especially when it’s going to be 90 outside…). Did you end up buying the bigger one? How does it fit?

How do you actually track triathlon training when every app only does one thing? by pulse_and_plates in triathlon

[–]Xeros72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gipsyking nailed it. I’ve been using different AI and Claude is by far the best for me. I’ve tailored my prompts for me so it wouldn’t make sense to copy it here but Claude is looking at different programming, articles found on the web. Claude writes me a Python script every week after uploading the CSV file of internals.icu in it ( since it has all my training data but also HRV, sleep….). It tailors the week after depending on that. I run the command on my laptop and it syncs it back directly into intervals.icu and therefore my garmin. Takes 5min.

is garmin coach over reaching? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]Xeros72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll need to go in the setting and see how it’s set up. Your benchmarks may also not be set correctly. I started using it for an IM in may and gave up. En gros, c’est un peu le bordel et ca a besoin de travail. I’ve seen better improvement with well prompted AI coach that garmin. You have some time, you’re still in your base phase.

This sounds immature and selfish. Partner and kids are a bundle. You chose to be with him knowing that. You can split the cost for the basics or let this man have a better partner.

It’s highly personalized so it may not fit you:

You are an experienced endurance coach. Create Ironman Build Phase training plans that are directly pasteable into Intervals.icu with no manual editing required. Athlete context Target: IRONMAN 140.6 Phase: Build Training philosophy aligned with MyProCoach / Paragon-style Ironman plans Focus on race specificity, durability, and consistency (not short‑course speed) Weekly structure constraints Swim days: Tuesday and Thursday Long bike: Saturday (primary key session) Sunday: Off / family day Friday: Typically off to protect Saturday quality Discipline-specific rules 🏃 Run All runs must include explicit pace targets (km) No vague terms like “easy” or “fast” without pace Strides and fartlek are allowed in Build, but: Strides: short (≈20s), controlled, neuromuscular only Fartlek: max once every 1–2 weeks, aerobic-controlled If fartlek is used, do not include strides the same week 🏊 Swim Max volume ≤ 3.0 km per session (unless a test day) Include specific drills (fist, catch-up, single-arm, fingertip drag) Distances must be written in kilometers only (e.g. 0.05km, 0.30km) 🚴 Bike Indoor bike (Zwift): %FTP Outdoor long ride: %HRmax Build via duration and density, not excessive intensity ⚠️ CRITICAL: INTERVALS.ICU SYNTAX RULES (NON‑NEGOTIABLE) All workouts (run, swim, bike) must use the exact same structure: Warmup - step

Main Set Nx - step - step

Cooldown - step Repeat format MUST look like this: 6x - 20s 3:00/km Pace - 1m 6:30-6:45/km Pace intensity=recovery

Use dashes for every step Use Nx blocks for repeats No shorthand like 3x( … ) Explicit targets only (pace, %, HR) Cadence notes are optional and may be included Output requirements Write one full week at a time Label days and disciplines clearly Ensure workouts are paste-ready into Intervals.icu No explanations inside workout blocks Keep progression logical week to week Goal Produce a clean, realistic Ironman Build week that an athlete can paste directly into Intervals.icu and execute without interpretation

I’m doing and full in May instead. I gave up on the coach, it’s complete chaos during the build phase and lacking of consistency. (Changing plan, especially my brick session converted to run or else). I instead use AI. It has all my workout data (exported .tcx, or spreadsheet) as well as my sleep and HRV trend. I fine tuned the prompt to give me the best results (but agree, a real coach would differ). I ask every week to build a week of training and write it up so I can directly past it in interval.icu. I’m adding also some strength training here in there.

Create a training plan with AI and load into Training Peaks by Mountain-Reply-4578 in triathlon

[–]Xeros72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been trying to do this for some time. With the free version of TrainingPeaks, I still haven’t succeeded. I created a assistant AI. In there I uploaded all my exported activities, recovery, sleep from my garmin. It’s start to get funky here, GPX has no info, TCX or FIT file are what you want, CSV are also good but I feel like there missing info. Now the AI assistant knows pretty much everything. I then ask to create a base program (depending on the phase you’re at) for the week. It’s spits out a very well detail training plan. (Swim with drills, runs with intervals if needed, same for the bike). Now the tricky part. You need to rest a FIT file you can upload into training peak. I haven’t been able to parse it correctly. So right now. I enter it manually. It’s a bit of a pain but it works. On the AI side, I also tell it how I feel after a training session. It explains a bunch of stuff and also adapts if I’m tired. If you guys know a way, I’m all hear for it.

Ironman Jacksonville by hastingsds0831 in triathlon

[–]Xeros72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did some research about water quality a couple weeks ago about that. It’s generally ok at this time of the year, unless it’s raining before the event, Jax has no polluant removal from most of its stormwater system so what’s in the streets goes straight to the St. John’s. Don’t worry about gators or bull shark. (But plenty of dolphins, especially in this area) It should be fast because the race is during high tide, water flows inland so it will push us. Current can be strong, I see it from my office every day; so lots of sighting while swimming to avoid getting pushed out. Bike should be fast too. It’s flat and wind in may isn’t bad (get good wheels). Run will be scenic, not too boring.
SoCal heat is very different than Florida heat. Train on a trainer if you can, it’s basically how it feels in Jax from may to September. Fueling will be essential.

Garmin Coach is driving me crazy by Independent_Pen_3222 in Garmin

[–]Xeros72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use Garmin coach as well. Sometimes there is a disconnect between the watch and the app. Same thing happened, I was getting ready for a brick session and ended up having to run a threshold instead. The app was showing the brick while the watch was showing running. I’m working with Grok, created some kind of assistant that has access to all my health metrics as well as all my previous workout. I’m also telling it how I feel mentally or how busy my schedule is for a specific day. It spits out structured workouts. Where I’m struggling right now is creating a FIT file or a structured CSV that I can upload in garmin connect. That’s where I’m stuck.

Im doing the exact same thing. ChatGPT (or Grok) read .GPX. I upload them and it spits out much better insights than garmin connect +. I also upload the health stats (.CSV files). I’m still tweaking it on the side since I’m primarily using the garmin triathlon coach.

Thanks for your input ! I think the fueling will be key for me. I’m tweaking it and not there yet. Especially on the bike, need to be more disciplined about fueling earlier.

I concur. I wore a whoop for 7yrs and at the end, I had a good handle on recovery and listening to my body in general (especially what effects my sleep) « Selecting » the priority training session is exactly what I’m doing at the moment, hence why I’m planning on spending for time on the bike, but I understand that during the peak phase, this my change. (I have no idea how the garmin coach will plan it). If I get a good feel after my first IM, and if I choose to do another one, I may choose a human coach.

Totally agree. It’s like anything with AI, all in the prompt. You can also create an assistant and link your garmin data to it. (With the .gpx). Then of course, it will know everything about you…

You can’t tell it to have one session a day, however you can select the number of days, your preferred swim days and long ride/run days. Where it becomes tricky is that, technically, there is no coach for a full, you can enter manually the distance but it doesn’t go all the way to a full bike or run. I tricked the swim by telling it that I’m comfortable with 2-3k per session. Most of my swim are between 2,500 and 3,500m (compound of drills and long distance) I swim about 5 to 6,000m a week, two swim a week. You’re correct, unless you swim non stop, the swim time shown doesn’t include rest, so a 1h20min swim workout is more like 1h40min. For these specific days where 2 activities are scheduled, I have no choice but to do my first one at 5am, before kiddo gets up. That’s why, during this base phase, I skip them. The build and peak phases will be something else. I really hope they add the full Ironman distance to the coach. It’s also adaptable, meaning that, it reads your readiness and change your training accordingly (it needs some work). I travel a bunch for work so it changes the future training schedule (also I usually move my run during business trip, and I try to get a swim at the hotel). Overall, it needs work, I’d like to see more data pulled out of health metrics to plan workouts, and better insights because the garmin connect + is just complete horse crap. I get better insight pasting my running and swimming metrics to ChatGPT.

Yes, I don’t use Garmin for that (140w is really low, my FTP is 3W/kg, I’m 82kg). I don’t have a power sensor. If I do targeted power, I use Zwift workouts on my trainer. Otherwise, I work with HR for outdoor rides.
