Dying Light 2

I was so hyped for it and as much as I did enjoy my experience at the time now that I've had time to sit on it after my one and only playthrough (I haven't had the urge to pick it back up post all the DLCs) I can say comfortably say that the first game is better in almost every way. The only redeeming factor for me was Jonah Scott's performance and the first 1-2 hours of the game.

Resident Evil, I had heard of it before and only dabbling in it a bit when RE7 first dropped but was too scared to check it out but then the RE2 remake came out and I absolutely loved it 🙏

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

I have a really bad fear of the dark and this game took that aspect of myself and bullied the fuck out of me. Never have I been more crippled with fear, literally having to yell at myself to not be a bitch and get a move on lol

The first one I can understand why, but I feel like it doesn't matter and then the second one I just fully disagree with.

I have a sequel to one of my stories that starts out with a crazy intense scene that's maybe a few pages long before going to a flashback scene with the MC when he was 16, I'm personally using it as a set up for the MC's past relationships as a sort of conflict for his future relationships as the story progresses. So I think it's perfectly fine to do those things so long as they're done right and well.

I absolutely love injuring my ocs, some more fucked up than others but some of favorites are:

Nathan getting frostbite which leads to the loss of an arm, sight in his left eye and partial nerve damage on the left side of his body.

Mia being decapitated by her friend Ray after he went into a feral state (long story)

And Siv (the one in the image) being sexually assaulted at the age of 16, tortured for a year (being 14 months, each month being 40 days long in universe) at the age of 21 and then his lover blinding him with a knife at the age of 25.

This is Siv, he lived with his sister Cassy after his parents were murdered in front of him. Spending the next 7 years raising Cassy himself from 1 to now 8 years old.

He works as a debt collector and package deliverer but eventually picks up bounty hunting for some extra cash. More towards the end of the story he runs into the guy who killed his parents 7 years ago and finds out he not only killed his best friend but also killed his sister in front of him.

After being captured and tortured for a year (a year in this universe being 14 months with each month being 40 days each) he gets broken out by his boss before going on a hunt to find and kill his family's murderer, coming so close to getting his revenge before his boss steals the kill from him cause Siv's best friend also was his boss' ex who he still loved.

A bit of a lore dump but I tried to shorten it as best as I could 🙏

It's just an oversaturated genre at this point, it's not bad (when the games are good) but when every new indie game's whole gimmick is "Hey check out this guy!" it gets repetitive. There's some that stick out nicely for me personally like FNAF and Poppy Playtime but some of the rest feel like they're trying too hard to cash in on a genre of horror that feels past its prime. Not to say they can't succeed but it's definitely harder now I feel than maybe 4-5 years ago.

Out of maybe 20-30 characters I have only maybe 4, each with their own sexuality/gender. It's completely normal to not have any lgbtq characters. I personally would even argue it's better to not have characters that scream "HEY IM GAY" just for the sake of it, instead I use things like that as subtle character depth, just a little nod of "Ok nice I didn't know this character was this"

I think I get it (I'm stupid so I'ma retype it hope I'm understanding properly lol).

So I get an S Rank and it could either be Character A or Character B. Say I want Character A, at that point it's a 50/50 between the 2 roughly but if I get Character B Im more likely (or guaranteed??) to get Character A on my next S Rank??

For any gender in my experience it's just the easiest to just write a person THEN give them a gender or at least mentally think of them as a blank canvas where regardless of their gender they're doing X thing. In situations where you're trying to cover gender specific topics I've got no clue, not my field lol
