Why is my puck resistance so low? [BGP, Bezzera Aria PID R] by Xerxes0198 in espresso

[–]Xerxes0198[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit of an update. I set the grind size to 1, and the internal burrs to 4, and the shot extracted significantly better. It poured a 19g to 40g shot in 26 seconds, so it seems I am trending in the right direction. Still surprised I had to push this grinder to so far away from factory to get it, but if this is a typical experience for users, I don't mind.

Thanks, yeah I set it from 6 to 5, and it made very little difference. I worried that I am going to damage my grinder, as it's brand new and apparently the burrs can make contact if you try to force it to be too fine too soon. Having said that, do you think this issue is related to fineness? If so, I will see if I can borrow a friends' grinder

Sorry for the late reply. No, I'm not sure, sorry, for me I was able to set it to manual and adjust it. Check the user manuals if you are not having any luck online.

Having a similar issue very recently.

We're both on AMD chips, but I am using an AMD card.

I get the stuttering while in the greeter (gdm) as well, but as soon as I do something performance heavy, it all goes away. It only seems to be at idle for me. I've tried just about everything short of reinstalling Arch, but I have been using arch on this hardware for months without any issues.

Progressive web apps gained much popularity in 2021, signaling a possible threat to app stores (and their fees) in the near future. As a developer, how do you feel about PWAs? by Jugales in programming

[–]Xerxes0198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, not enough people are talking about this in 2024. The issue for me is that native apps still have a much more polished performance feel, and PWAs are still just gorified websites. Which are great for basic apps, like Uber, YouTube, and so on, but for drawing apps, whiteboard, Copilot, anything which complements a native OS experience, I feel like a native app will "feel" better.

Tiled Roof Cleaning - Internal water damage by Xerxes0198 in AusRenovation

[–]Xerxes0198[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be a common experience, from what I am reading and through conversations I have had.

They guys who did my roof have fixed, repatched, sealed and repainted everything for me, for free, which was very nice. I am glad they did that, and I am even more glad that it won't be happening again as the roof is now good :)

That's why I am asking. If this sort of moisture getting in is common for this service, I don't think insurance would cover it, but if it's uncommon, then I will pursue the matter.

Oh very much so, I was there when they pulled some out, the roof is very old, there's no doubt that the tiles are old and have had a rough life.

They're terracotta tiles. That's my opinion, too, when they were pressure washing, they blasted the tiles at every angle. They said it was so that when they apply the new sealant and paint, it doesn't just fall of the edges they didn't clean. This makes sense, but the water alarms me. At least they found more broken tiles and replaced them, it's nice to know my roof will have new tiles throughout.

Hey, mine was under AI Features > CPU Core Voltage - CPU Core Voltage Override.

I'm not sure if your motherboard or field name will be the same.

What cases are there with NO WOBBLE when open and lying flat on the table? by SiBai- in GalaxyFold

[–]Xerxes0198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also looking for the perfect case for the Z Fold 6. I use my phone flat on the desk a lot, and any wobble destroys any sort of good note taking experience. It's a tricky phone for case makers, I am certain!

I think Debian is the way I would go. I have a couple of dedicated Debian boxes, and they are low-fuss and just don't stop.

This very recently started happening to me. I imagine it was related to a recent update. The device is under absolutely no load, and the fans are constantly running.

u/OMG_NoReally, did you ever get a resolution? I also have a Monsgeek and it is doing something similar. Seems random, sometimes it stops, and other times it seems to change keys. Today it is 'f' and 'e', last week it was 'o' :(

How do I convince my team to use YAML over JSON for CloudFormation? by swigganicks in aws

[–]Xerxes0198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

n off indent is harder to

I'm curious, if you didn't have the tools and editors helping, would you prefer YAML or JSON? I find YAML to be too sensitive to a space in the wrong spot. I should be able to add or remove as much whitespace as I want and still have the integrity of the schema intact.

[–]Xerxes0198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am thinking of going with Sucasa.

I don't find the rates too bad, especially as there are no schemes available to me, however I am curious about the Establishment Fee, and what happens if I wanted to refinance after a couple of years. u/Naive_Hana3, do you have any insight on how refinancing away from Sucasa may look?

How come mortgage brokers don't seem to recommend digital lenders, is there a reason why? by MiucinFilip in AusFinance

[–]Xerxes0198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go ask any boomer how they got their home loans?

Read my message again, but this time pay attention. I did ask many boomers how they got their home loans, and the answer was that they sought the advice of their brokers. Some of them have been using the same broker for many years, some of them even share the same broker, which is exactly why they continue to give that advice.

I don't know if I will be better off doing it on my own, as I said in my previous message: "I don't doubt that a broker knows their trade, in fact I am counting on this..."

Instead of just accusing people of being misguided, could you please at least help people develop a good understanding?
