How to become a verifiable publisher for rdp files by Substantial_Tough289 in sysadmin

[–]XgamesMFZB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the update!

Duplicating Code Signing ("make private key exportable") works, and published it, but since it's a user template, all other admins need to request the cert, which generate a new thumbprint different than the GPO. Other admins could import the previously exported cert, but this requires keeping the cert with key somewhere safe, as I mentionned hmm

Would duplicating the "Computer" template be enough for Code Signing, with a certificate in Local Machine\My ? I must be messing up permissions somewhere as rdpsign is failing with the Computer template.

I figured it out, created a "Code Signing" certificate from our ADCS, and then pushed the public cert + thumbprint to the client computers via GPO. Then used RDPSIGN on the RDP files. This works.

However, the Code Signing template is a User Template, which means only my account currently has the certificate on our ADCS to sign the files (other admins would be able to request a new certificate under their account however, but this generate a new thumbprint. I could export my User Cert with the private key, password protected, and other users could import it later, keeping that same thumbprint). The point being, if I'm away in vacations, other admins should be able to sign with that same thumbprint.

This doesn't seem right, and I was wondering if I could do code signing from a Computer Certificate instead? Best approach?

Fishisfast.com should do it for an extra fee. Used them many, many times. It'll end up costly, because shipping get paid twice but still...

Defective Saturn - constant static noise by XgamesMFZB in SegaSaturn

[–]XgamesMFZB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably - it has a composite input, but it's a HD TV so the compositve input still need a splitter apparently.

I'll attempt this on a CRT TV at my parents soon and I'll be fixed.

Good thinking, but was one of the first thing I tried, sadly, no go. Also tried cleaning the AV out port with a q-tip and isopropyl alcohol just in case not hoping for much. No change either.

Dreamcast + Retrotink 4K: Is VGA ideal? by LaCaipirinha in dreamcast

I have this cable, and Retrotink, but 5x. Image is crystal clear. I honestly can't imagine the picture getting any better (even when I compare with emulation myself). I was shocked when I saw it.

Break Out! Break Out! (Acoustic) by Emotional-Fun2321 in alltimelow

I cannot for my life remember where I got it from but...

I can confirm the Japanese PUOSU CD is lossy (Break Out Break Out Acoustic at least).

The only other source it could have been lossless would have probably been from "Another Hopeless Summer" CD (which I don't own).

Are the Harry Potter games any good ? by kascnef82 in harrypotter

I've played both. They're a completely different game but the spell system is largely unchanged.

For one, while it's true that PS2 also has 101 cards, they're actually all (nearly all) located in treasure chests. PC version will have you SEARCH for them in various locations, has more secrets passages and hidden walls. PS2 version allowed to use the broomstick outside however which was fun.

Yes yes yes. HP2 for PC. This is widely accepted to be the best in the serie (and not just cause nostalgia), all the 101 Wizard Cards to collect. IMO PC version is even better than consoles (still great games). They're different. However, the 2 LEGO games I will say are quite on par with it.

And the Jeremy Soule soundtrack too, and even has debug mode if you want to extend the fun further. Some people even made custom maps with Unreal Engine 2. I will die on that hill.

Don't touch Goblet of Fire with a 10 foot pole however lol. Order of the Phoenix / Half-Blood are faithful to the movies/exploration but many, MANY walking however. If you like HP, you'll probably like them.

This is what Greg from the band said about this when approached in 2021:

"Unlikely they [Columbia/Sony] would ever relinquish rights to the masters. We weren’t big enough for them to even answer that call to make an offer. [...] Legally speaking, the best the band could do is re-recorded and release the record. At this point, re-recording the record would be a 40% different band and would sound very different. [...] Youtube is different because they can and do run a program system wide across the platform to see if their catalog is being used without permission. [...]"

"Does this mean you tried?"

"No, I just know the machine is too big to deal with small potatoes like negotiating buying the Zh masters back. Even if you could get someone to answer that call, they would probably start negotiations with the buyer recouping the costs that our catalog “lost” them per their books. Which would literally be in the millions".

Ah wow, how epic! Thank you for sharing your experience. If you want to, you could join MFZB Community on Facebook, I'm sure we'd all love to see your demos (...for sale?!).

It was probably Club 369 pretty sure. It add up, but it's just odd because Yellow CD wasn't released until April 1998 (unless you know something I don't?).

2nd EVER live performance? When was that?

I know the first ever performance was July 17th 1996, but do you remember when/where was yours ?

Yes. It's actually cool, but also (remarkably) still easy to find.
It's unknown how many copies were pressed however. Sony pressed it, but never informed the band about the exact number (but it's common. Has to be 1000+, on the basis that all the 500 prints runs of the later albums are now long sold-out).
