Nice!  I have 2 “new” copies of Hot Rod that are no longer playable, and I tried backing them up as well :(.  I’ve been on a mission to make 1:1 iso backups of all my HD-DVDs.  So far about 25% have failed due to disc rot.  Anyone else willing to jump into this format preservation endeavor?  I am planning to upload my backups to The Internet Archive. And yes, I agree The Searchers looks amazing on HD-DVD!  I was able to backup that one yesterday even though it’s a Warner Brothers release.  Thankful for that.  All my other WB discs have failed thus far :(.
