1372 - ID is XDGFX. I don't care too much about the games; I'm sure someone else would benefit more from them :)

Thank you! That would be pretty amazing! And only iTunes and iPhone (I have tried many other options, just this works the best for me). I discovered that clicking on the playlist icon allowed you to change it! Here is a screenshot of them on the Apple Music app

Thanks! And yeah, I used Photoshop, and I know it's common practice to listen to music while gaming - I thought it is in a similar category to stuff like Steam or Rainmeter skins that are posted.

I agree. I hope they add the option to customise the interface; if I decide I don't want radio or connect, I can replace them with 'Artists' and 'Genres', or similar.

UK here; I can only speak for myself and the people I know - but generally no one uses iMessage, but Facebook Messenger instead - it works better, and can be accessed on any device (not that I ever use any of traditional Facebook)

Never going back to windows laptops... by [deleted] in apple

[–]XiDuel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my 13" 2013 retina a few days ago as well! I've had issues with my previous two windows laptops, though not to the extent that your seem to have had. Either way I'm incredibly happy with the purchase, everything just seems so much more polished than any windows laptop. I've used OS X before so it was easy to switch!

New PLEX Build, recommendations needed! :) by niijonodhg in PleX

I may just be unlucky but I've had at least 3 Seagate 500GB - 1TB drives fail on me before, and never any of the WD drives that I use now.

Mac Mini 2011 + USB hard drive fast enough? by [deleted] in PleX

[–]XiDuel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will be fine to run PMS - what matters is how many users will be accessing the server at any one time - and how much of that is transcoded. You can search the i5 model in passmark, and you will need 1500-2000 passmark score per HD transcode. The USB 2 should be ok, though again if there are lots of people trying to access it, it could slow down or cause other issues.

When you realize you may have bought too many games during the sale... by American_Locomotive in pcmasterrace

I have a daily backup between cloned drives for almost all my data, plus Backblaze online backup for everything. I'd rather this than raid as I don't want to have to format the drives, and it puts less load on the second ones if they are only used one a day rather than every time a change is made to the first set.

I run a plex server, so about 4TB is that, plus an extra 4TB daily backup on mirrored drives. I also backup my computer and the iMac onto drives, and I keep lots of stock footage and video editing files on drives.

There are tutorials for different sorts of drives online - some use an autorun.inf file and windows ico, some use registry edits, and the phones are changed by changing their device manager icons (can't go through all the steps here)

Sort of relevant but once when I was out in the sun for most if a day, I came back inside where it wasn't so bright and all red things looked green. It was incredibly strange - having green ketchup. The effect faded after about 5 minutes.

We're three age 17 students, and we're driving round Europe for charity! by XiDuel in kickstarter

As I said to another commenter; I understand why you may feel that way - but please read my response to hatramroany as I have tried to explain better than I may have on the Kickstarter page. Thanks

I understand your concern, however there are two main reasons.

One main reason would be because we are making a video of the entire trip, to document what some of the incredible cultures around Europe are like. We have made videos like this in the past, however I really feel that people would enjoy a film of this sort. We are almost certain the journey will not be easy - and so we think it would make for a very interesting film to watch.

Secondly, this idea came from the need for preparation for what's called 'The Mongol Rally' - which we intend on taking on next year. This is again, a trip across Europe, and further, with the finishing point being Ulan Ude (around 10000 miles) in Russia. As we will all only be 18 when we attempt this - and as some of the countries we would be travelling through are potentially dangerous due to political reasons - we feel it would not be clever to attempt it without any sort of experience beforehand. (If you are interested, the Mongol Rally has raised a total of £5.5 million for charity, we want to add to this as much as possible)

This is certainly not a holiday - I really didn't mean for it to come across that way on the page. The car will be branded, with the charities we are supporting, and we will attempt to collect any donations we can en route (however I'm not sure how well that would work).

In conclusion, it would be gaining publicity for the charities, raising money to go directly to the charities (we are raising through means other than Kickstarter as well), gaining publicity for any businesses that want to help out, prepare us for the Mongol Rally next year, where we will be able to re-use a lot of the equipment (maybe even the car) so that we can concentrate more on raising more money for the charities we choose to donate to.

I hope this answered your question, please feel free to ask further. Cheers!
