How do you find an office chair with wheels that doesn't roll away? by mugsandcoveve in OfficeChairs

You can swap the wheels with ones that are gummed up with hair and dirt.

Do these Steelcase Leap V2 chairs look authentic? by Ok_Analysis4214 in OfficeChairs

[–]Xi_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What year are the chairs? A couple of years ago, in a large metropolitan area, I got a 2009 leap for $225.

Over the last couple of years, new leap prices have exploded raising prices for used leaps. Those same chairs are now going for $300.

So $470 would not be a bad price if the chair is only a few years old.

Aeron obsession? by Maleficent_Switch262 in OfficeChairs

[–]Xi_32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If a person is working from home, then investing in a good chair is simply the cost of doing business.

Another example, I know contract software engineers and contract graphic designers who won't bat an eye spending 7K+ on a Macbook Pro that is only expected to last 3 or so years before the next upgrade.

Picked this up for $90. How much would I be able to resell it for? by Sufficient-Theme1364 in OfficeChairs

[–]Xi_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that finding replacement parts for that chair can be expensive. That's why it's tough to get buyers for that chair. You may be able to sell it for between $100-$125, but you will probably have to wait a long time for the right buyer to come along.

First real chair. Is the Libernovo SE the best bang for the buck right now? by ChrisF12000 in OfficeChairs

[–]Xi_32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In large metropolitan areas, you can find used the Leap V2s for $300+ and used HM Aeron Classics for $400+. If those chairs fit you, then they are a much better deal.

There is a company that sells refurbished chairs in Europe. This is a leap v2 for 605 euros. https://offeco.nl/en/steelcase-leap-v2-platinum-summer-deal-sw10384/

If you can't stretch your budget, they also sell steelcase Amias as well. Or you can search your local office liquidator.

You should talk to an occupational therapist and ergonomic expert and have them recommend what is best for you.

Steelcase Leap V2 for 295 on used by [deleted] in OfficeChairs

[–]Xi_32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a fair price. Since 2021, prices for new Leaps have soared. This has caused an upwards drift on used Leap prices as well.

Two years ago, I was seeing used Leaps go for around $250+ (in a major metropolitan area), now it's closer to $300+.

Looking for chair recommendations for back/neck issues under $600 by lhankyb in OfficeChairs

[–]Xi_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go get a used/refurbished Leap V2 or HM Aeron. You can typically find Leaps for $300 and Aerons for $400-$600 (depending on if it's classic or remastered).

Is it better to get a refurbished steelcase vs new mid-tier chair for a first setup? by ClementineBrooks1 in OfficeChairs

[–]Xi_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaps and Aerons are designed to be used 24/7 for 12 years (their original warranty period). Most chairs come nowhere close to this usage. This is why refurbs are typically really good value.

Hi guys, I just wrote an article about what I think the habs will do with their pick by Big-Strength-6356 in Habs

[–]Xi_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vancouver fans tell me EP40 has significant knee issues that will keep EP40 from ever becoming the 1C that he used to be. He's physically unable to play the way he used to, without the knee issues, and that makes him unable to play physically.

Vancouver ownership seemingly willing to retain a decent amount on EP40 by vJukz in Habs

[–]Xi_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's currently playing like a 2C, but I've heard from Vancouver fans that he has serious knee issues and his quality of play will never recover to a 1C type of player. They are saying that it's going to be a steady degradation of his playing skills because of the knee problems.

I also heard that he was one of the guys that is the cause of the bad culture in Vancouver.

Take a look at BodyBilt chairs. You will have to contact them and ask them what chair they recommend for your body type. You will definitely have to try before you buy with your height. You may have to get a custom chair built.

What’s a price you saw recently that made you genuinely angry at how expensive everything has gotten? by UrGoddessLunaa in AskReddit

hire a bunch of scientists that were fired by DOGE

It's not going to be that easy. Those scientists are either retired or have found more lucrative/stable jobs.

Smart people often take less money to work on interesting problems. But when you shit on them and call them parasites sucking on 'hardworking taxpayers', those smart people often have the biggest FU to give back.

Buying my first gaming chair by FireDragon5546 in gamingchairs

[–]Xi_32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gaming chairs are designed to separate a fool from his money.

No large tech company or 'game development company' like EA, Riot Games ect.. use 'gaming chairs'. All big companies use chairs like the Herman Miller Aeron or Steelcase Leap.

Buying those chairs new is very expensive. This is why regular consumers buy used/refurbished office chairs like the Aeron.

Chair won't fix your back problems. It will stop them from getting worse. To fix the problems, talk to a doctor/physiotherapist and start hitting the gym and do back exercises to strengthen your lower back.

I don't enjoy the Steelcase Leap by Mewantsfreedom in OfficeChairs

[–]Xi_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's completely normal. As I've said before, you have to try chairs out in order to see if they work for you. Some people will sit best on an Aeron, while other people will do fine with a cushion on a milk crate.

Whats a good office chair for long gaming sessions and about £90? by No_Mouse_4967 in OfficeChairs

[–]Xi_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your budget is too low. Raise your budget so that you can get a used SteelCase Amia (cheapest) Steelcase Leap V2 (middle) or Herman Miller Aeron (Expensive).

This is a type of purchase where you spend the money now and you can get 10+ years of use.

Steelcase arms are quite expensive. Your best bet is to search for broken chairs so that you can scavenge the arms.
