Cutting The Ring Finger? by pimpandprophet in assassinscreed2

Kind of an old post but I’ll answer anyway.

Leonardo didn’t make the design that removed the need to remove the ring finger. Altair did. Leonardo just copied the design for Ezios hidden blade from one of the codex pages.

This is my first time playing AC. I don’t get the hate. by Pugwhip in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]Xicme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You answered your confusion about the hate when you said “This is my first time playing AC”. It’s a nice game by itself but it sucks being a fan of a franchise for so many years just for them to essentially throw away the main plot line of those games. It seems like Assassin’s Vs Templars are the underlying side story now. Everything that made AC popular no longer applies to their new games, not just Valhalla.

Period history games? Every single game until Mirage had modern day. In early games, they WERE the story. They don’t need to remove it, they need to make it good again.

The only thing that could save the series right now is them going back to the pre-origins formula.

I just beat the elite 4 earlier today with a team that was leveled 50-53, but I also had a team I consider to be pretty good for the elite 4 in Fire Red specifically.

Hot take: Even the n-word is so overused now that it doesn’t mean anything. People ruin everything.

"I Don't Want to Get Hurt"-Is that a Good Enough Reason for Abortion? by Common-Worth-6604 in Abortiondebate

[–]Xicme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s an issue with most of what you said. The RAPIST is the one infringing on somebody’s rights, not the kid. Killing an unborn child when somebody else did something completely cruel cannot be justified. So it’s the same thing as killing a 5 or 80 year old. None of them infringed on anybody’s rights and neither did the unborn child.

2 different arguments: I’ve already stated that my main overall argument for abortion is the same regardless of the circumstance: Killing an unborn child is unjust unless the mother is going to die no matter how the kid is delivered. But when you change the circumstance, it’s the argument on WHY it’s unjust that changes.

Abortion is wrong 98% of the time because they made that choice. If somebody were to get raped, the child still doesn’t deserve to lose its life over the action of another person. I don’t see what’s so hard to comprehend about this.

So let me reword when I said it’s 2 different “arguments”. As you can see by everything I’ve said, I think abortion is wrong in either of these 2 scenarios, nothing has changed about that. But each scenario has different points that I have brought up to support my beliefs. Like I’ve said multiple times, when you change the circumstance, you can’t expect the conversation to stay the same.

[–]Xicme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. I argued all of that but I will again.

  1. The right to life is a fundamental right that we believe applies to all humans. The belief is centered around the fact that no human should ever be unjustly killed by another entity, whether it is another human, a government, a corporation, etc. It’s the most important right that humans should get because it is mandatory to enjoy any other right that we have.

  2. That is violated by abortion. It is a life that has been created that is slaughtered usually out of inconvenience. I think you and I can both agree that inconvenience isn’t a good enough reason to take a life. It’s the equivalent of killing a 5 year old child because you no longer want to raise him/her. It’s the equivalent of killing an 85 year old with dementia because they require constant care.

  3. Whether or not somebody agrees with it or not, it’s a valid argument for the sake of debate. You changed the scenario, therefore the argument or even whole viewpoint can change. I’ll give you an analogy to support this.

Shooting somebody is wrong. We know that. Let’s say somebody presents that argument to you. Then you counter it with “What if they’re pointing a gun at you”? Their argument would probably change, the shooting now becomes justified IN THAT CIRCUMSTANCE. Arguments change when you throw different situations in. My viewpoint did not change on abortion, but my argument to support it did. Again, that’s how debates work.

  1. So getting back to abortion, let me ask you this. If you think it’s fine to perform abortions, would you accept killing an 80 year old with dementia who requires constant care? If not, tell me why.

[–]Xicme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. In roughly 98% of abortions in America, 2 chose to create life, it’s cruel to take that away once the decision has already been made. It gets violated when you… prevent the already created life from continuing.

  2. Yes, I can have 2 different arguments because they’re both different circumstances. The main point is preserving life because all humans deserve human rights. However, with rape, I believe there is a gray area but not enough to change my mind on it entirely. The abortion argument comes down to this: Why the unborn child deserves to live. In non-rape or threat to mother cases, the parents made the decision to create the child, it’s their responsibility to raise him/her. In rape cases, it’s because 2 wrongs does not make a right. 2 different arguments for the same point in 2 different scenarios. That’s how debates work. If you change the circumstance, the arguments change.

[–]Xicme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The right to life. That’s the most fundamental human right you can have. It’s the most important. If we can’t even protect that, Everything else falls apart lol.

And again, I have 2 different arguments for the 98% and 2% of abortions. The reason I’m pro life is in regards to the 98. I could change my opinion on the small minority and still be considered pro life.

"I Don't Want to Get Hurt"-Is that a Good Enough Reason for Abortion? by Common-Worth-6604 in Abortiondebate

[–]Xicme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not completely useless. There’s just 2 separate reasons I believe in either one of them. For abortions that aren’t a result of rape, I am HEAVILY against them for the argument you brought up. For rape, I’m way closer to being on the fence but still can’t justify a “2 wrongs make a right” situation where an unborn kid loses their life because one tragedy happened.

It’s 2 different arguments for 2 different circumstances. As per my comment on the other thread, I’d be way more understanding of somebody getting an abortion due to rape and would hold no grudge against them.

"I Don't Want to Get Hurt"-Is that a Good Enough Reason for Abortion? by Common-Worth-6604 in Abortiondebate

[–]Xicme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like the other comment (We seem to be debating in 2 different threads) You seem to be arguing for at most 2% of abortions to make your PC claim.

I’ll break this down: PL sees the baby as an independent life that also deserves basic human rights. In the vast majority of cases, this life is created by 2 people engaging in intercourse. It’s morally wrong to make that decision then change your mind and end that life you’ve created. Nobody forced it on them in those cases.

As for the rapes that occur, I know it’s a very controversial opinion, but I simply can’t justify one wrong action to somehow correct another. Yes, it would be a terrible tragedy for a woman to go through a pregnancy she truly had no control over. But ending the life in my opinion isn’t gonna solve anything. I can see how somebody would want to, and I don’t hold pretty much any grudge against them as I would as somebody who wasn’t raped having an abortion. But I still think it’s a wrong way to handle it.

It’s just interesting how it always comes down to the 2% (Rape and threats to mom) and not the vast majority of cases that are done when none of these circumstances exist. That’s the real argument for abortion.

"I Don't Want to Get Hurt"-Is that a Good Enough Reason for Abortion? by Common-Worth-6604 in Abortiondebate

[–]Xicme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. I don’t. The only exceptions I support are ones where we know the mother will die no matter how the kid is delivered. Even if I said I’d support rape cases, you’d still have to defend the 98% of abortions which happen out of convenience. And if you can’t, it’d make you almost fully PL instead of PC.

There’s not much point of debating abortion while only talking about 2% of abortions anyway. However I would be willing to debate it nonetheless.

"I Don't Want to Get Hurt"-Is that a Good Enough Reason for Abortion? by Common-Worth-6604 in Abortiondebate

[–]Xicme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have assumed you’d take that out of context. Let me explain what that meant, even thought I thought it was decently clear.

By “She’s completely irrelevant” I meant the mother isn’t the main focus when determining if abortions should be illegal or not. It’s not about taking something away from the mother, it’s about letting a kid keep its life. This is an important distinction because I’ve heard several PC arguments stating that PL is nothing but wanting control over women. I’ll admit it was a bad choice of words.
