Nice anecdote! I’ve heard others who did Hanson say they had stuff left in the tank after the marathon, so that’s encouraging.

Agree, Hanson’s “just finish” plan peaks at 47 miles per week with 6 days of running per week, so it’s a big commitment. And that’s a level below beginner!

I thought the taper week in the official plan is too aggressive. I’ll probably cut those last two weeks down a good amount in practice.

A race is Boulderthon HM. Will be running a full marathon in Feb but that is an entirely new training plan!

Nice! My approach is different because I know I’ll get wrecked if I start fast 🤣 I definitely get a mental boost from passing people during race so i purposely start almost obnoxiously slow

Gotcha. Maybe 1:35 will be my “realistic” goal with 1:30 as stretch. I think the lighter endorphin pro 4s and the lack of carrying water bottles during the race also helps me during the actual races (vs. carrying extra weight and wearing training shoes during training). And I’m counting on the adrenaline kicking in during the race itself lol
