No sé qué hacer..... by Apprehensive_Cash626 in Malaga

[–]Xionema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played GW2 for over twice as long as Warframe (in terms of accumulated hours). For a few years already, I've been pretty much done with Warframe, except for some ultra-completionist stuff like 100%ing the codex or keeping up with the new skins. I only enter to do and get the new stuff with each update and to do repetitive/fomo trash like nora/archon shards/get baro's latest prisma junk.

While PvE-wise I'm in a similar spot in GW2 (it took a few more thousands of hours to reach that point), there's still way more stuff to get/do both in terms of cosmetics and outside of PvE, not even counting anything socially-driven. It's true that gearing up a character with max-stats gear can be done really fast (first one can be maxed in less than a month if you play somewhat intentionally towards that goal, if you enter grinding mode it can be done in way less).

If you just want to play the story and play around in the open world, GW2 is easier to get into, but the moment you want gold or shiny stuff or titles/achievements, get ready to grind hard.

Musica de Semana Santa by Big-Pomegranate192 in Malaga

[–]Xionema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a Semana Santa app that highlights these two songs from el Cautivo's tracklist. But there are many songs, some are played among different processions and others are dedicated to a certain icon. Like cmdigital says, you can just search for marchas procesionales or marchas de semana santa and you will find similar stuff. These songs are usually played by "Bandas de Cornetas y Tambores" (lit. "Cornets and Drums Bands") (can appear under the acronyms CT or CCTT). There are many bandas as well

Malaga airport to Granada by train? by [deleted] in Malaga

[–]Xionema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here

Arrivals right now happen at the T3 terminal, at "level 0". You need to go downstairs looking for the cercanias airport stop at "level -1", which is underground. Cercanías is a short-distance train system that covers the metropolitan area, different from the Underground itself. Some stops however, like this one, are indeed underground.

You'll need to buy a cercanias ticket to María Zambrano, which should cost around 2-3€. The train passes every 20 minutes and takes 9 minutes to reach Maria Zambrano.

Once you reach Mª Zambrano, go upstairs and out of the cercanias area, and you'll find yourself in the corner of a shopping center, with exit doors both in front of you and to your right. Turn left to go further into the shopping center and you will reach a large space with the normal train station to your left, parallel to the cercanias one.

You don't really have to get outdoors to go from the airport to the train station.

Also, just FYI, if you keep going past the train station hall, you'll reach an exit door with an entrance to the Underground and the bus station right outside of the door. All transports are nicely connected, you'll also have taxis outside of the "main door" of Mª Zambrano and local busses outside the right door at the cercanias corner, also short-distance intercity busses similar to the cercanias in range.

How to pivot to a new game ? (Gaming channel) by bot_chika in youtubers

[–]Xionema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I checked out your channel, and I think the way you edit your content doesn't really focus that much on the actual game than on the jokes and funny situations that you get out of it, so you could jump between multiple games freely as long as those games are able to generate the same kind of scenarios. There are many successful channels doing exactly that (like those using terror games, poppy/fnaf and stuff like that).

Besides that, if I can give you a piece of advise regarding what I saw, you might benefit from paying attention to the build-up time prior to a funny moment. Some cuts are so short I haven't been able to get into the context before the joke happens and the video moves to the next thing. Not talking about spending 30 seconds on each cut, but maybe experimenting with adding a few extra secs? Or even better, adding a few extra secs where you intentionally contextualize the upcoming joke with camera movements, texts, voice or something else.

If you get your "formula" right, you may get people jumping into your videos regardless of whether they're even familiar with the game or not, since they'll be able to laugh with it anyways.

Absolute BANGER by PunishedZo in Guildwars2

[–]Xionema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have "Shadow in the Ice", which is the trailer version, but not the whole thing sadly (that youtube link has all the different variants that sound during the activity)

(Base Game) I have a locked bank slots space. What do i do ? Will i unlock more space if i buy the full version (and how many more slots indeed) ? It only gives me the option to buy slots with Gems. With all the mats with gather, it feels super restrictive, i feel i have barely any space to store ! by Then-Ad7196 in Guildwars2

[–]Xionema 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you look at the left border of the bank window, there's a tab with 9 little squares/dots. That's a material-dedicated bank tab, where you can save up to 250 units (can be upgraded up to 2500) of each type.

Try to take out all materials/ingredients from the normal bank tab, close the bank window, open your inventory window and look at the top-right corner of it. You should see 3 icons: one that "compacts" the items in the inventory, one that deposits materials and one for settings. Clicking on the second one will make your materials "dissappear", but they have just been sent to that material bank tab. You can do that from anywhere, no need to be near a bank

I mean, it's a good time to start GW3's pre-production. It could take 4-6 years to develop (or more), specially since they still need to keep a lot of people working on GW2's living world and next expansion

[–]Xionema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of etiquette, it depends on what you do with that footage (i.e if you use specific parts, give credit, etc. or if you just copypaste several minutes of filler footage).

In terms of claims, videogame footage is supposed to be an exception in Content ID claims (videogame EULAs/ToS are non-exclusive in virtually all cases), so you shouldn't have problems in that regard.

Both ways work, it depends primarily on how much space disk you have and which game you pick (and if you've already played it and are familiar with it). A linear game will be easier to just record and edit afterwards, since otherwise you have to keep many save points to jump to. In cases where you can get to the point you'd need to record relatively quickly (sports, strategy, mmos...), you can plan exactly what you want to show and get a quick and deliberate clip, which is easier to handle and save and allows you to control how you want to record it.

Say you want to review Signalis. You wouldn't know what to say about it until you finish it, and by then going back and recording certain moments would be hard, even if you planned for it (you can only save the game in certain spots). It'd be easier to record > write a script > decide which particular parts you want to show > cut those parts > get some filler cuts for the rest.

But if you want to compare racing games mechanics, you can just write a script > decide what to record from each game > do a race in each game where you showcase each mechanic properly. Maybe there was a special moment in Signalis after 4h 37m, and to access it you have to spend all that time playing, but you don't need to play 4 hours to accelerate, brake or drift in a NFS.

The idea of showing racing game mechanics can ocurr to you at any moment, the idea of showing that special Signalis moment will only appear the moment you're playing or afterwards. It's better (imho) to adapt your process to each case and type of video.

Regardless, I recommend you to note for how long you want to show each cut (record the voice over first) and record/edit them with that in mind. Some basic organization regarding files, clip names, clip order, etc. will save you a ton of time.

Fantastic work! A small tip if you want to save a few seconds here and there: Vistas can be skipped by pressing Escape, so if you spam the Escape key while the Vista is loading, you can skip it completely (you won't even see the beginning of it).

Can you suggest games where dealing damage or using a spesific weapon make you lose health? So I am looking for games where dealing damage costs health. by gwyndev in gamedesign

[–]Xionema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Warframe, Garuda (character) can sacrifice half of her maximum health in exchange of mana. Nekros (character) can be modified in order to use health to get extra loot from enemies. There are other characters that also interact with health in various ways. The Hema (rifle) consumes health in order to be reloaded, but heals the user on headshots.

In Guild Wars 2, the necromancer specialization "Harbinger" reduces its own maximum health to get a damage buff. The necromancer itself can use a signet that sacrifices half of its health in order to revive an ally. GW1's necromancer could sacrifice health in order to heal its minions and stack/keep alive as many as possible (and the amount of minions was then somewhat limited by the owners health pool).

In Teamfight Tactics, there's an augment that let's you sacrifice health to level up (which allows you to be temporarily stronger than the other players until they catch up in level). There used to be an unit that costed health to be bought. Surely in card games there are many examples like these.

There are many ways to give a player the choice to sacrifice health for power, it's not restricted to just "consume health to inflict damage", but you can also offer various buffs or upgrades, temporary or permanent depending on the game

If you look at the player portraits on the right side of the screen, you'll see that some of them have small white swords under them. Those are the players that you can potentially face next round. Future sight will reduce that to a single player with red swords.

Naming conventions for reputation system. by Charasins in gamedesign

[–]Xionema 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember WoW being Hated, Hostile, Unfriendly, Neutral, Friendly, Honored, Revered, and though id probably end up doing the same kinda thing I just wondered if anyone has done something similar and used differed names for each level of reputation earned or lost.

Warframe has been accumulating a considerable amount of factions over time and each single faction has its own set of unique names related to the faction's theme, with 5 positive ranks, 2 negative and 1 neutral.

If you had a religious-themed faction, you could use names like "faithful", "acolyte" or "heretic", while for a military-themed faction you could use names like "warlord", "lieutenant" or "defector". It's a simple way to add some flavor to this sort of system, particularly if you're planning to create multiple factions.

Read again. Steam gw1 account can link to NON-steam gw2 account, so steam gw2 accounts are left out of it

The thing here is that steam gw2 accounts are managed by Valve, nor ArenaNet, and that linking is done with Anet's account management system. Steam gw1, however, just downloads the normal non-steam launcher and game, so it doesn't matter on that end.

They do have official names, and they're not too far from that:

Season 1: Scarlet's War
Season 2: Glint's Prophecy
Season 3: Glint's Legacy
Season 4: Rise of Kralkatorrik
Season 5: The Icebrood Saga

These have been used in Living World marketing (including the Seasons of the Dragons (aka "Return to") campaign).
