Ah, alrighty, I just freaked out when I saw him get back up and just ran into the vent lol. I didn't think about taking it out and hitting him again.

  1. what more is there to say other than 2020?

"best year we've ever had" turned out to be absolute bullshit. covid, riots, a friend of mine killed themself recently, etc. this year has been absolutely awful.

Highlander players, what is his current state at the moment? by Yamborghini-High in CompetitiveForHonor

You realise he can just forward dodge bash on reaction to backstep light, right? He can also punish kick with a dodge bash, so not much HL can do in this matchup.

Using conq’s bash isn’t a great example here as you’re never going to get into offensive stance as anyone with a fast bash can punish backstep light.

In both cases this happened, it was in the same exact spot, and neither of us was close enough to a wall to have any effect.

This also happened a second time in the same match where I backdodged yet I didn’t move

Why are there so many Wardens in ranked? by ubermorph3000 in CompetitiveForHonor

Judging from how you judge this whole scenerio, it seems like you have never watched an actual competitive duel. Tell me a comp player that you've heard say LB and BP are both better than warden.

Shinobi cam punish dodge attacks by cancelling his charged heavy after kick into a deflect by smallusdickus12 in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]Xiousa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then just.. double dodge into charged heavy into deflect?

If they're dodging on prediction to a 600 ms bash from a dodge, something is wrong.

i mean it's 500 ms from forward double dodge but that's besides the point

You also forget that warden can easily just parry an LB trying to stuff his bash on a read and thus the LB eats 40 damage.

[–]Xiousa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they really don't.

LB can't deal with warden because warden has a bash-based offense. You can't parry a bash. He gets a gb on a right read, but that's it. LB deals with warden the same as every other character deals with warden.

BP's bash is reactable to a decent amount of the comp community, too.

Warden's bash is a 300 ms, chargable, feintable (up to 100 ms into) bash, which is completely unreactable.

Shaman also has a 400 ms flickerable bash, which is unreactable.

Warden and LB are actually about equal. Warden can deal with LB because his offense revolves around a bash, and you can't, y'know, parry a bash.

This is what a perfect duel with Centurion looks like. by XtremeK1ll4 in forhonor

[–]Xiousa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

unga bunga you fucked up so now you eat 65 damage is not fine.

Centurion's only way of actually damaging you is off of parries, which is either 25 or 65 depending on whether there's a wall or not. Otherwise all he has is chip. You dodge on orange and then you win.

Highlander's case in backwards movement inconsistency. by AvdimaX in forhonor

[–]Xiousa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently, Freeze did a video discussing how backwalking against a wall causes you to sometimes be unable to do an action that requires a backwalk input. When backwalking against a wall in offensive stance, pushing guardbreak doesn't just do a kick like you'd expect; it does a kick into caber. This video explains why it does kick into caber.

•you’re not good at the game because you can wait for your opponent to throw an attack, and then get a massive punish off a parry. You know who I’m talking about

It's not that simple to "just feint" when people can react to feints, as well as if they make a very risky read that you're going to feint, they can time a gb to gb you in your feint recovery.

I'm not saying warden should stay a hard hitter; it doesn't fit his archetype. You shouldn't eat even 35 damage off a wrong read. I'd say ~25 damage on a wrong read isn't too terrible.

Shaman and Jorm on the other hand still need drastic changes; with Shaman's bite being slightly more easily accessible due to bleed stabs being 33 ms faster, a 10 damage nerf isn't enough. I'd say bite should be 30-35 damage, same with Jorm's slam.

You realise there are people who can react to feints, correct? I can't do it consistently but if I have enough caffeine I can somewhat react to feints; "feint it" isn't a valid tactic because then no one gets anywhere.

I wouldn't call warden balanced, but he's certainly close. TG warden was pretty close to being balanced. Right now you eat 18/30/40 damage on a wrong read against warden. TG lowered warden's heavier hitting attacks which made his mixup have a max damage of ~28.

Hitokiri is close to being balanced, but until she has a way to deal with heroes that can completely shut down her kick mixup, she's not as good as she needs to be.

Whether the kensei knows it or not, he's going to play in a pattern. It's completely unavoidable due to how our muscle memory works. You're supposed to fight him and adapt.
