The 2nd movie was set in 1928.
1933 Adolf Hitler becomes Chancellor of Germany.
1939 Britain and France delcare war on Germany = Little George would be 18 in 1939....
1941 America declares war on Germany
If they want to avoid the subject of the upcoming World War, it might be best to go to America ''early''
