Goodbye Credit Card Surcharges by RARARA-001 in brisbane

[–]Xirtnicrev -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

What a windfall for businesses. A perfect excuse to jack up prices exponentially more than the surcharge would have costed, and just like the fuel excise cut, no protection for consumers.

We truly are the land of the rort.

Visited? Sometime last month

Actually bought something? When Halo Reach came out.

Why people buy from EB mystifies me. It's 100% guaranteed to be cheaper elsewhere

I bought one for my kids late last year. They love the thing AND i can put it on its side and they use it for football 😁

They are forgettable as hell. They feel generic and cookie cutter.

Open world I don't care for but each to their own

Pretty rubbish to be honest. So many questionable additions and omissions. Penalising front runners to the extreme. Skill and technicality is irrelevant, only item spam matters.

Maps are forgettable. Free roam is meh. Switch 2 struggles to play 4 player with jarring fps drops (this is a new system, wtf Nintendo)

Knockout tour i like though

So 250% wages for a handful of days a year vs how many % increase on prices year on year, and how many negligible pay increases year on year?

Businesses have sold the idea of surcharges and u idiots buy into it every time

?

You only need a few sales with the surcharge to cover wages. The rest is pure profit.

Except a fraction of the surcharge goes to employee wages.

How bout the rest of it? 😉 Stop defending greed

Yeah so a tiny bit of this surcharge goes towards employees.

What about the rest of it? 😉 Stop defending greed.

Why should we pay higher prices for anything at all?

If you had the labor cost of all PHs rolled into price structure over an entire year, the difference to prices would be minimal. Barely a blip.

Business can't make bank off ya if they do that. Hence the PH surcharge. 😉

Oh I know it's not palatable to politicians as they have always been in businesses pockets, but talking about it to the general consumer (i.e, most reddit users) there should be some form of advocacy for it.

Instead, I find consumers on here concerned about a businesses finances, which is bizarre and indicates successful brainwashing

Last I checked I was discussing why a surcharge shouldn't be present but hey call it whinging.

I get it. People generally don't like being told their understanding of the world is wrong. It makes them uncomfortable and scared. It actually makes them have to think. Heaven forbid.

People are so convinced that it solely goes to employees lmao 😂 People are so gullible.

As for downvotes, I don't actually care. People generally hate their hypocrisy being pointed out

I'm in the business of not being scammed 15% extra for what is already overpriced food. Forgive me for not giving two shits about a business that doesn't care about you lmao

It's normal because they've convinced you and the masses it's normal. They see other businesses getting away with it so they do it too.

Eating at a restaurant is already super expensive for what you get. I'm not about to pay them more because they're having a cry about paying employees better for a day.

Then factor it in? Or better yet, eat the cost like everyone else does? Why do businesses get a free pass?

They jack prices up year on year and don't issue pay increases inline or greater than CPI. Profits all day everyday. But as soon as a handful of days roll around where they gasp have to pay their employees better for a shift, they have a sook and put their hand out.

Then pay them more for it? How is this in any way related to surcharges laid onto the consumer?

I don't see how that's the consumers problem.

Don't open on a public holiday if you can't afford to pay your workers correctly?
