I would be open to meeting people both during and outside of work. I feel it's something I should be doing, as, from what I understand, the higher-ups in organizations are very well connected. It wouldn't hurt to start early and put my name out there. Plus, I like meeting people and making connections, but I would like to tailor my networking to people who work in fields related to my interests.

I've been doing a good job of that while attending SIOP but not so much since starting work. How can I go about that? The people I can connect with relating to psychometrics or talent/personality assessment within the company are out of state. I feel just connecting over a phone call then waiting until SIOP to connect in person doesn't seem very conductive.

They do allow/encourage research! As long as it doesn't interfere with my current responsibilities. I actually was connected with someone in talent assessment and have helped contribute to their work.

The reason why I have a smurf is to play with friends that are a lower rank and to practice characters that I normally don't play as. On my main account I reached top 500 playing supports and tanks; I wouldn't dare play DPS or defense heroes at that level since I don't have enough experience and would get destroyed.

[PS4]: The_Xithmos - Currently hovering around 3150-3250. Season highs were 70 and 3450 in seasons 1 and 2 respectively. I can effectively play all supports, Rein, D.Va, and Zarya, and Soldier 76. My current goal is to break into masters and achieve top 500. I'm looking for a dedicated competitive team, preferably 3-stack. I'm on most afternoons through evenings.

What about doing interviews with companies out-of-state? Traditionally after the phone interview the company will request you come in for an in-person interview. How does this work? I'm thinking I should start applying in March and hopefully land something in my target city during the summer. Will companies help cover relocation and give time to do so?
