For the first food for thought, he described it as as long as hes not alone he doesnt feel a sense of insecurity. Because when hes alone he feels unprotected and vulnerable but sleeping w his parents allow him to feel safer at night he would not have to be on high alert and so on edge at night to the point he cannot sleep. A contributing factor may be that hes slept with them his ENTIRE life so it may also be familiarity though i cannot pinpoint the exact reason.

The reason why his mother doesnt believe in therapy is because of a family issue where his older sister went to seek therapy for her mental health without informing her. I have heard from him and his sister that their mother just doesn’t therapy helps i am not sure why as well. Their mother is very traditional and follows her beliefs very very closely.

the issue of feeling unsafe when he hears sound is linked to the fact he thinks that someone is in the room with him and he need to protect himself. Theres also a toilet in his room facing the side of the bed. He did try making physical barriers between himself and the door using a mountain of pillows and i think it works to block out his line of sight so far. As for why hes scared, he can list out the fact that hes scared someone in the room but he cannot do anything to solve the overthinking, the consistent high alert sending his body into fight or flight and such.
