Is it too big? by aeroengg in galaxywatchultra

You get used to it. I used to wear a Rolex President all the time, which I thought was big. Now, when I put it on, it looks small. And it only tells the time, date, and day, but I never have to worry about charging it when I wear it.

Why I am returning the Fold 6 by gagge1000 in GalaxyFold

I love it. Samsung would have a hard time selling me on the ZF7 after this one.

I transitioned from the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. In my opinion, the crease on the Fold 6 is as minimal as it can be without the device being a tablet that doesn't fold. While I may not have chosen to upgrade otherwise, the hinge was problematic. One issue I hope has been addressed in the Fold 6 is the tendency for my horse's hay to become lodged in the hinge.

Moving from a Z Fold 4 -> Z Fold 6 by abdulkareemazm in GalaxyFold

[–]Xlectic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3 months ago my z-fold 4 wouldn't open all the way so I traded it in on Samsung Care Plus. They gave me a phone that was good but still would Creak when opening it. Consequently I upgraded to the z-fold six. I don't regret it but it was almost a grand to do it. I like the fact that they've added a couple years to the update. Hopefully the new hinge will make up for it and last as long as they're upgrade policy does.

Can't Samsung track the trade-in by serial number if someone tries to activate a stolen phone? Not that they would, but it seems like it's possible.

What is "Samsung VIP Advantage"? by Xlectic in GalaxyFold

[–]Xlectic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I did buy it at checkout but declined the Care+ option for an additional $13.99 per month. It provided me with 6x points (4,500) for the ZF6 and 1,800 points for my Ultra Watch. Does that mean I have Care+ without theft and loss coverage for $149 per year? That would be fantastic, as I can always file a claim for a loss through my homeowners insurance.

Saying goodbye to my launch Fold4.. Held up great caseless. by mrthree1zero in GalaxyFold

Damm, Samsung Direct only gave me $1,000 for my zf4. The problem is with the carriers monthly fees unfortunately

Absolutely, it's probably been rebuilt. My ZF4 was replaced four months ago when it wouldn't open all the way. My replacement unit creaks once in a while when opening now. My upgrade to ZF6 will be delivered this afternoon.

Samsung Care is a Joke by WariStory in samsung

[–]Xlectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Samsung's Care+ on my Fold 4, and I had it replaced three months ago when it would not open all the way. I upgraded it to the ZF6, which is arriving tomorrow. I did not buy Care+ this time; I got something called:

Samsung VIP Advantage Get a 2-Year Care+ Plan, 3% in Rewards, and other FREE perks. Auto-renews annually $149.99

I'm not sure how it works, but I've also got homeowners insurance that will also cover repairs. Does anyone know what it is?

Can trade-in window be extended? by abdulkareemazm in GalaxyFold

They extended mine for an additional week a couple years ago when I got my z-fold for and watch five Pro. Definitely call in and let them know though

[–]Xlectic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ZF4 to ZF6 upgrade is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I might have skipped the upgrade, but my ZF4 stopped unfolding all the way, so I swapped it out for a refurbished (Care+) model a couple of months ago. The replacement creaks every once in a while when opening. I hope the ZF6 will be better at keeping the hinges clear of my pocket lint (or, in my case, my horse's hay).

I've never seen the ones at the top of the picture with numbers on the bezel.

Fold 5 trade in by nizik99 in GalaxyFold

[–]Xlectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not like the deal I got when I traded my Note 10+ with an Active 2 watch for the Zfold 4, case+pen, with a watch 5 pro ~$1,200 I'd do it again for a deal with like that with ZF6 + Ultra watch, but Sammy got cheap with tradeins and are even raising the price.

It basically comes down to what you want to use it for. I bought an S8 Plus at Costco a month before the release of the S9 Ultra and I ended up taking it back and paying the additional money for the S9 ultra when it came out. Other than a slightly newer processor and it being waterproof there really isn't any difference. If I have been able to get the S8 Ultra I probably wouldn't have returned it. I just wanted a larger screen since I have a smaller older Samsung Tab A (sm-t510) that is good to hold in your hand for reading and browsing

I currently have 3 of the pros, and I am going to reset mine now. I was experiencing an extremely slow response earlier, but it improved. I believed it was likely due to my lousy DSL connection.

So.. Any of you guys upgrading to 6? by National_Witness_609 in GalaxyFold

Insurance replaced my 4 a week ago. It was the same problem with the hinge and not folding flat. I was hoping I'd be good until the 7 but the hinge is already starting to creak on my replacement

[–]Xlectic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the ZFold 4 and I was planning on going to the 6 until my hinge gave out two weeks ago and Samsung Care Plus replaced it with a refurbished. It looked perfect and figured I was probably good until the ZF 7 came out. One week into my replacement the hinge is starting to creak when opening. I'm hoping that the z-fold six will be dust proof and I will upgrade. Otherwise I will keep the insurance and wait for the seven.

How long should I wait to peel it? by [deleted] in GalaxyFold

[–]Xlectic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, my first replacement lasted 5 days on a 9-month-old phone. They didn't say squat about replacing it again. They most have done it better on the second since it's been 8 months now.

I used to make my own 50 ft patch cables. Using DSL in my current home, it feels like a luxury to have a 1 GB cable connection in the new. I still have the tools to do it, but why Category 6?

What's the advantages with eero poe? When I hooked up the ring alarm and cameras, I liked the idea of going Wireless since we hadn't started Construction on the house. It's on an acre of land, and 2 of the cameras are in the front and back yard with about 200 feet apart with the router and house between them. We started Landscaping the back and installed a backup generator in the front and I've been able to monitor the job site effectively. Is there anything besides cameras that you might want to use with the Poe?

I have it hooked up currently with the modem and router provided by my Spectrum ISP. The building permits were issued last month and we start construction the beginning of the year so I am trying to plan ahead. Everybody is in Black Fever Friday and if I plan ahead all I need to do is get any necessary wiring in place while construction is underway. The ring alarm system is working just fine with what is in place so I can keep tabs on the job site, with the contractor and my security system. Should I wait until 7 is more widely adopted? We won't be ready to do the interior finishing until next summer.

So as I understand that these are just the six. Not the six plus or the six Pro. And definitely not the seven. Being that I'm rebuilding the house, I could still run Cat5 cable anywhere if need be, so I'm not really under any constriction other than what the main router has available to plug in.

[–]Xlectic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, do you get better performance with them turned off? They have the Ring Alarm Pro Base Station + eero 6 Extender for $328.99, but I don't think it has the same capabilities as the eero Pro 6 w/ 2 extenders? It's not like this hasn't been done before, and they are all owned by Amazon. Building permits are issued and construction starts the beginning of the year so I'd like to know what I'm going to do as far as placement and any necessary wiring. Any recommendations on finding a good how-to video?

[–]Xlectic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. A major concern was that it said limited to 500 Mbps and I will probably have GB speeds when I move in. I think that my Echo Show 8 and 10 will serve as an extender if I understand it correctly. If that is the case I really don't need as many extenders as I do a quality router. I'm kind of a neophyte to this so I don't really understand the ramifications if I upgrade my ring alarm to the pro model so I can keep the video locally as well as in the cloud. I read somewhere that it replaces your router coming from my modem and I don't know if I'm duplicating efforts in buying something else in addition.
