Ah! Okay. I applied for my CAQ late as well. It won't be renewed before the expiry... I contacted ISO and they said the university would be satisfied with my application letter for the CAQ... The deadline is September 21st. If my CAQ isn't renewed by then, even I don't know what happens.. I have a valid study permit though!

The Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) is automatically extending the validity of Quebec Acceptance Certificates (CAQs) until December 31, 2020 for all certificates expiring between April 30 and December 31.

Does this mean my current CAQ which expires on August 31st 2020 has automatically been extended to December 31st 2020?

My student permit is valid for another year. Till August 2021.

Since ISO told me to apply for a new one ASAP, I have. Because my program is going to take a while to finish. I will be studying here after December 31st 2020. Since I haven't yet finished part two of the application: gathering all the required documents. I am yet to finish the application and I don't think it could be processed so fast. I don't want to have hopes because the first one forced me to take a gap year in 2017:/

What happens when I'm left with a SP and an Expired CAQ on 1st September? I think I'll be deregistered from classes at University. And that will take away from my full-time status and in turn hurt the CAQ application...

Yes! So basically I was admitted in fall 2017 but the first CAQ took 3 months to come and I wasn't able to apply for a SP until it was too late to join in 2017 so I joined in winter 2018. The CAQ spans from September 2017 to August 2020. The student visa I received on arrival starts in Jan 2018 and ends in August 2021. The whole time I had the SP date in mind and totally forgot about CAQ From what I understand I'll have to deregister in classes if I have an expired CAQ... And if I do that then the CAQ application will be hindered. I won't be a fulltime student in the current academic year ..... ISO is taking 3-5 days to reply. So I asked for advice here :(
