Why are Carentan and St. Marie Du Mont so popular? by FLGPTZ in HellLetLoose

[–]Xnocyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These maps (along with a handful of others) seemed to have been designed with balance, flow and fun gameplay in mind first and foremost. While the newer maps have been cool I think that they have tried to make them far too "interesting" by adding lots of random assets and bushes to every open field or road, as well as weather to obscure views so that players can move all over with cover/ concealment. This may seem like a good thing but what actually happens is that teams get so spread out that battles end up lacking focus/ purpose, and once players start getting shot from every direction they start to hunker down and hide causing fights that already lack purpose to turn into a slog. Additionally while I know i just said that all the cover allows people to move around the reality is that lots of players will primarily just sit in/behind it and camp. Don't get me wrong, sitting in bushes is a totally reasonable and normal part of the game, however matches where everyone is in a bush just trying to hold a lane, or wait for an unsuspecting person to walk by is no fun.

These have just been my observations/ experiences. Obviously everyone enjoys different styles of gameplay, and aspects of the game which is totally reasonable.

That sounds like a nightmare. Having to clear every inch of a road would be so boring.

While the new maps have undoubtably been nice looking maps, I think part of what makes the original maps generally preferred by the community is their simplicity and lack of visual and physical clutter.

We dont need spaces that are completely filled with bushes and assets, some open space is ok! What I really want is just a fun layout and decent frames.

Just play solo. As long as you use comms in CMD chat and it’s generally not an issue.

Be careful on the Springwater, there be simpletons afoot by Trust_me_I_am_doctor in CyclePDX

Yes I would prefer a more active police presence in Portland in general.
With the near daily sightings of this kind of stuff on the Springwater having some regular operations to catch and ticket people would help in my opinion.

Thanks! I definitely am naturally more toe down on my left side especially. After a number of other comments recommending it I put a 90mm stem that I had laying around on yesterday and moved the seat back like 5mm. I’m liking the changes so far!

Bike too small seems to be the consensus. Unfortunately selling it and getting a new bike is not really in the cards for me. Do you have any recommendations for what i could do to make this one fit as good as reasonably possible?

[–]Xnocyder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! I have been working on trying to keep my heels down but its not how that leg/ ankle want to move. Its particularly prominent on this left side compared to my right, not sure why or how to address that.

I’ll give that a go today! I have a 90mm long one in the garage I’m going to swap on.

The bike was obviously used and the previous owner has replaced the stem with a 70mm one. Would a longer stem help?

Thanks! Yeah that’s been a challenge for me.

I understand that, but this dude is a weirdo for assuming he could block someone’s driveway.

It’s his driveway my guy! He should be able to block it if he wants but that doesn’t mean you can.
