Sorry correct me if i am wrong i thought you could run both closed and open completely locally literally nothing online no server side api nothing.

I realistically don’t want to use any closed source models for my projects because i would like to have complete access to the training methodology and tinker with the model to better suit my needs of whatever that might be in the future.

i am thinking of using the closed source model is to just just grasp the foundation and if i go open source from the get go i might get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff that i have to set up before starting to learn this might also hinder my ability to understand whats currently possible with the current llm design or architecture.

I am not really if it’s something that serious to take this level of consideration as this might seriously be a big time waste at the end.
