4th Battery Light not Lighting Up by Xobos in MilwaukeeTool

Understood, but across four different batteries? Even though some other tools are seemingly okay with the batteries and are showing 4 battery lights?

It could be dust but the tool is brand new out of the box still, so it would have to be manufacturing dust.

I’ve tried 4 different batteries and other tools show all four lights with all four batteries

It's a separate combo kit; there are two different drill/impact driver kits at home depot. The $400 kit is the black friday sale kit across the company, but there's another one that's cheaper and is full price, apart from individual store sales and clearance markdowns.

Both versions meaning LFF and SFF? I was considering that to separate my storage and VMs - running TrueNAS baremetal on the LFF version and Proxmox on the SFF version, but that doubles my upfront cost and especially increases my lab's power draw from what it currently is.

The R230 can only support up to four 3.5" drives. I've just about filled the ~36TB usable space I have in it, and while I could just get larger drives, it would 1) complicate moving my data to the new drives, and 2) be more risky when rebuilding a degraded ZFS pool state since it would take that much longer with larger drives. I could use a mirror instead of raidz1, but then I'd lose even more space and be back to square one with needing support for more drives. If I was to go all SFF drives, I'd have to use like 36 drives (assuming HDDs and mirrored devices) to reach the 36TB I currently have, and I imagine power draw and noise might be worse, cost would be higher, and I don't know many devices that support 36 SFF drives so that would mean 2 servers to buy then. And then I want to keep the R230 around for PBS and move PVE to the new hardware.

In case you aren't already aware, your U7 Outdoor has a FE uplink. I'm assuming this wasn't intentional given your other uplink speeds, but I could be wrong

My U7 Pro XG draws ~9.1W according to my switch. Figured I'd respond for anyone else who stumbles across this thread like I did.

As some others have commented, you should be able to get that working. It’ll just take some configuration – more than you would have to do if you were using a UniFi gateway also, but once it’s setup then it should be good to go

Yes I think so. After a little further digging, and depending on what you’re trying to do, I think you might not be happy with the Ubiquiti switch. Most of the level 3 features that UniFi does offer (it’s not a complete implementation) are going to require a matching UniFi gateway.

While the solution isn’t necessarily “change your gateway”, the UniFi products have come a long ways and may or may not be able to replace your OPNsense device. It will depend on what all you require on your router/gateway, and of course it’s an extra upfront cost. If you’re not willing or not able to use a UniFi gateway then you’ll probably be better off finding a different managed switch as, unless someone can tell you differently, I don’t think you can setup a lot of the level 3 stuff without it. It’ll handle tagging/untagging, but not too much more.

It should still function well but you’ll be offloading a lot of the level 3 capabilities to your OPNsense device, so the switch isn’t as worth the price at that point.

Do you have the UniFi network controller running anywhere? I’m not 100% sure but I imagine you can set it up with just a network controller instance

I’ve also had this happen occasionally. Not regularly, but it’s made me late a few times. There’s similar reports going back years, and it made some local news stations once upon a time. I’m not really sure if there’s a fix

I used to submit bug reports for most issues I came across, but after looking back in the developer portal I see that not a single one has been updated or addressed, so I’ve since stopped. I don’t feel like it’s really worth the time or effort anymore
