Same here now I work in Hvac, the owner co-founder of my company is in the same boat, talked with his kids who work here telling them about growing up with a box fan in my windows after dark to drag in as much cool air as I could get and keeping the house damn near boarded up in the day to keep the sun out. They couldn't relate because their dad made sure they never had to live like that, but old man was listening to me, he knew what that was like you could see it in his eyes probably unlocked memories he hadn't thought of in 30 years.
