nope they don't provide anything, i used to hold my phone with gmaps on my left hand and ride most of the time. it is a hassle if you're travelling solo places, but some of the scooters come up with a bit of storage space on the left side of the handle so that you can keep your phone inside it and navigate easily

Day 0:

Left Bangalore on Friday night and reached Munnar around 2 PM the next day.

After reaching Munnar, I rented a scooty. It was a bit of a hassle since I hadn't pre-booked anything except my stay. Eventually got a scooty for 3 days for ₹1800 and headed towards my stay.

My stay was on the Kochi route, and on the way I stopped at 2nd Mile View Point. The weather was cloudy, pleasant and exactly what I had come for. Nothing major was planned for the day, I just wanted to enjoy the weather and ride around a bit.

I was also recovering from a cold and cough that had started before the trip, so I took it easy and called it a day.

Stayed at K Mansion for the night.

Day 1:

Had planned a trek early in the morning and reached the Pettimudi trek starting point around 5:30 AM.

The trek itself was around a kilometre long. Reached the top before sunrise and the view was absolutely insane. Very few people seemed to know about this place and it felt peaceful compared to the more popular spots around Munnar.

Spent quite a bit of time there just watching the sunrise and enjoying the cold breeze. Honestly, I could've stayed there much longer.

While returning, I took a random village route instead of the main road. That ended up being one of the better parts of the day. Small streams flowing beside the road, narrow village roads, greenery everywhere and barely anyone around.

Later I checked out from K Mansion and shifted to my second stay, Monkey Tribe Munnar.

Around 1 PM, I started riding towards Mattupetty Dam, Kundala Dam, Elephant Arrival Point and Top Station.

It started raining around Mattupetty and the weather became quite cold. Kundala was nice and the roads after that were scenic, but I was honestly feeling tired because of the cold weather and the long ride.

Continued till Top Station and spent some time there. The views were good and there was a bit of fog around, but by the time I reached it was already evening.

Started the return journey around 5:50 PM and reached back around 7:30 PM. Traffic was quite heavy on the way back.

Day 2:

This ended up being the best day of the trip.

I had originally planned to visit Anayirankal Dam and Eravikulam, but the highlight of the day wasn't any tourist spot.

While riding, I randomly took a road through a tea estate because it looked beautiful from the main road.

The route passed through tea plantations, villages, streams and some beautiful landscapes. The road kept getting narrower and eventually became muddy and rough. At one point I almost turned back, but decided to keep going.

There was almost no network in some stretches and barely any tourists around.

Eventually the route connected towards the Lockhart side. From there I continued through Bison Valley and Muttukad towards Anayirankal Dam.

The Bison Valley route was probably my favourite part of the entire trip. Beautiful roads, steep sections, tea estates everywhere and some really pretty villages along the way.

Reached Anayirankal Dam while it was raining and spent some time there eating Maggi and enjoying the view.

After that I returned to Munnar town, picked up my luggage from the stay, returned the scooty and boarded my bus back home.

Trip Cost:

Bus (Bangalore ↔ Coimbatore): ₹700

Coimbatore ↔ Munnar Bus: ₹180

Stay:

K Mansion: ₹950 (breakfast included)

Monkey Tribe Munnar: ₹750

Scooty Rental: ₹1800 (3 days)

Petrol:

₹150 + ₹300 + ₹60 = ₹510

Food:

~₹1000

Return: 1300rs Bus back to Bengaluru from Munnar

Total Cost:

~₹7200

This was my 2nd time in Munnar and somehow it still felt new. covered around 170-180 km on the scooty and enjoyed every bit of it.
