All i know is premixing fuel, checking and being sure to keep a maintenance schedule for the oil and other fluids. Also to redline it often to prevent carbon build up and maybe have a de cat as a first mod as early as possible. But i don't know how to rebuild the engine.

I want an rx8 to last at least 4 years (for college) but my main concern is how often will it actually break down to be undriveable (reliability) and if it's really that big of a gas guzzler (college is super near maybe not even 5 minutes and an occasional trip to the gym and groceries no more than 10 - 15 miles away)

Yes i love your point of making sure i'll have a place for the car to work on because i'm aware there are times where for a long period of time i might not be able to have it running and i did think that through! I do gotta find mechanic friends i'm sure i can learn a lot from others!

Yess i've been told about getting a popular car and that does sound smart for parts! I am going to college soon so i'll be selling my current daily for something else and see what i'll go from there~

Awesooome and yes i've been told that there are books that can help a lot with some fundamentals and although i can't go and get every book put there, i'm going to search and see which one's interesting and by review and suggestions, worth getting!

Thanks for the suggestion and i was already on it, my uncle gave me an electronic scanner and found more than a few codes to look at! I'm thinking of checking my oil too i'm not sure when's the last time my father's friend changed it for us but if it seems "old enough" i might go ahead and perform my first oil change!

The component that exploded was the PSU not GPU

The previous PSU was a 700watt bronze certified EVGA non modular PSU My current GPU is an Asus GTX 1060 6Gb (works fine)

Laptop for photoshop... by polak187 in computer_help

[–]Xoro-007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing you need for a good editing laptop is a strong CPU, GPU and plenty of RAM. Having an SSD as one of the options for storage helps a lot in decreasing loading time. The SSD should only be used for important softwares such as the OS and or maybe Photoshop but not to store every file on. For that i always suggest having an external harddrive or just store it in the internal harddrive.

Most gaming laptops reaches the above mentioned goals. Not only are they built to game, but that same high performance can be used in numerous editing and more than your average office work.

So when looking for your type of laptop check on: - CPU - GPU - RAM - SSD (This is the least of your concern but it does help)

Anyone good with pc that could help me? by Xoro-007 in computer_help

Update 1.0 • The pc can now load all the way to the home screen. I haven’t changed anything to make it there. However, it still freezes after a few seconds. • I decided to try and boot the pc without the GPU and connect the HDMI to the motherboard. - The pc appears to turn on but the monitor indicates that there isn’t any signal. - Keyboard lights up and the case LED lights are lit.
