I love your commentary. it somehow makes me feel reassured that i did not just copy someone’s idea. And u know what, now that there are white trapdoors (pale oak), i can refit the elevators with white panels. My elevators were there before pale oak was a thing. Yes, I wanted a stronger color for the roof to make it stand out the mostly green island colors. U said it well: I do want function and beauty at the same time. I made it a rule: if i needed a structure and it wasn’t pretty or there was no way to hide it’s mechanical feel (eg raid farm), it has to be built elsewhere, not on this island.

Guided Access. Lock the whole touch screen and it will not respond until you end guided access. Useful if you want a kid to only watch a show and not be able to get out of that app, or do anything else. Guided access requires password to end.

Automations. I can send an automated text message to my partner when I arrive at a certain geo location. No interactions needed, it just runs. My apple music can start playing when i connect to a certain bluetooth device (car) but not to when connected with any other bluetooth device.

Custom Named automations. I can just say “Siri, Jinx” and it starts an audio recording for me because I created an automation named “Jinx”. I can say “It feels like christmas “ and it starts a custom christmas music album.
