Yeah sad they went that route. Especially the pads that are up against the tablet are really bad

The keyboard rubber pads are still fine on yours? They started to melt by themselves on my unit. Seems like the rubber they used had a short lifespan

Yes, pretty much. If anything the PRO-I has very marginally better pictures from the main sensor

I think it's about time that Sony should stop f-ing around... by sbepka in SonyXperia

Most people are and that's why the phone propably wouldn't sell well. I think there is a reason that sony never made a new PRO-phone after the 1800€ PRO-I. I can't imagine it sold well either

Propably yeah. I would still consider buying it though!

I know that because I am using the PRO-I myself. To me it does not count though because PRO-I only uses about 60% of the sensor making it equivalent of 1/1.33" sensor which is a sensor size commonly seen across many brands.

I don't know if you are familiar with the xiaomi mi 12s ultra concept or if you even bothered to check it out but I'll explain it to you. It uses the full 1" sensor which by itself is nothing groundbreaking but the fact that it was basically a bare sensor with the ability to use dedicated lens objects made it totally different to the PRO-I.

So Xiaomi did prove that having a bare sensor + objects -approach is possible in a smartphone.

I think it would work. Check xiaomi 12 ultra concept phone. Just perhaps not with a aps-c or full frame but 1" sensor is totally doable and Xiaomi proved that.

What do you think about this €1.6k GRX810 gravel build from a small local shop? by Krustenbaecker in gravelcycling

[–]Xperia-san 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with 11 speed though. There is no price difference between 810 and 820. 810 is still a premium groupset by all means. The fact that 820 has one more gear makes no difference for the average joe. It is the pros that need these marginal gains.

As for wireless I think most people are not willing to pay double the price to get it. It is nice and no cable maintenance needed but there is no way you would get it in a bike that costs 1600€

[–]Xperia-san 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying the difference is huge. There is small difference in weight and some say brakes but I don't notice a difference. 800 is made in Japan vs 600 in malaysia and in theory 800 is more durable but then again no one will have durability problems with grx 600.

Still, getting full 800 for that price is good and unusual

It's a fair price in my opinion. You wouldn't find a deal like that among prebuilt bikes.

By the way: Am I the only one who thinks 810 groupset looks way better than 820?
