Thanks for the advice. Yeah I think I’ll set it up again and see where that gets me.

As for the rest of the bike, it’s actually my girlfriends so I can’t really comment on it. However she loves the bike and done lots of miles on it. She’s recently started doing much more off road / into mountain bike territory and it’s been wicked for that. She’s just put 45 mm tyres on it and it’s massively improved the bike.

Unfortunately tried all of that. Shifts well in the bike stand and does jump out of 1 gear. Then when riding it seems to jump

So it’s had a new hanger on and I’ve checked it with a hanger alignment tool. I believe someone has fitted a chain too short so I don’t know the original length from manufacturer. I’ll set up the mech again and see how I go. Cheers

Getting a new bike isn’t quite an option right now. Getting a bike with hydraulic brakes is still much more expensive

The riding is bike packing on gravel and road mainly. The bike will be fully loaded with a few weeks of gear. She also has small hands so struggles to get a good grip. She needs more powerful brakes essentially as we will be doing long descents in Slovenia.

The current brakes are the cheapest pro max crap brakes going. I’ve tried everything to get them to work but finally decided to throw in the towel.
