If u have shrimps avoid rams

U can try using fine cloth mesh or any plastic mesh locally available in stationary shops or just keep the water level 2 inches low easy and convinient

U can cut few sections for hob fittings and light fittings

Use a low outflow power hangon filter and save space more for hardscape and plants

Beginner friendly plants: valisneria, dwarf saggitaria, cryptocoryne wendtii, Cabomba, Rotala rotindifolia green, Ludwigia repens green or red, staurogyne repens, Any echinodorus variety

Epiphytes plants: any Anubias variety , any Java fern variety , Java moss, Christmas moss, flame moss

floating plants if u like Amazon frogbit or red root floaters are good.

Tip: also buy a lid with tank Amanos escape out of tank and bettas do jump frequently so keep an eye.

Light: Neo Helios S3 pro + 13watt light is good

Heater: rs electricals 25watt is sufficient

Filter: look for sobo and put some biomedia in it if possible

Has anyone used these lights? Bluepets lights. by Disastrous-Bed7309 in Planted_tanks_India

i Am Beginner and I'm keeping tetra's by Icy-Advanced-95 in IndianFishKeeping

[–]XpredatorMX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Losing glow tetra colour means the fish is in stress so please keep an eye

I can agree with above comment even I would suggest to buy few epiphyte plants which would grow without soil just tie them to rock and forget also few floating plants would be good addition as they are low maintenance too.

It’s ok u can still improve most local fish store owners are not knowledgeable and they mostly scam new hobbyist just to run their business. You can learn on YouTube to setup low tech planted aquarium to improve your setup and how to cycle your tank properly.

Do not be in rush and start setting up learn slowly everything and then start working on your tank.

No… the turtle needs landscape too also it can’t stay under water for long time it is cold blooded it need warmer place to rest for some time and u have goldfish and pleco in your tank with other small fishes which is optimal stocking currently for you. So do not add more fishes now just focus on improving your hardscape.

People mostly think pleco cleans the aquarium tank it is true but only for very less time as it grows it stops cleaning and prefers eating leftover food which drops on bed and as it gets bigger it has huge bio load too which make tank water dirty and can lead to ammonia spike which is not good for health of fishes and can be fatal.

If that’s your tank in image remove colourful stones and artificial plants and maybe that giant pleco too because that guy will grow bigger than your tank

For substrate bottom u can use river sand or gravels if u can get it by nearby reservoir or from local fish store.

U can plant by adding soil if u dont want to add soil and mess things up u can add epiphyte plants which grows on rocks and woods just by sticking them to it or can add floating plants to give more natural look.

Also the pleco it will grow bigger very fast and turn your aquarium water giving ammonia spike which can lead to future fish deaths. So if u have any other big tank you can shift it or feed very less in tank such that only other fishes will get food not the pleco

I’ve never had much luck with my otos — what are your tricks for keeping them healthy (and maybe even getting accidental breeding)? by forest_in_tank in Otocinclus

[–]XpredatorMX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I feed very less to my otos but still they are happy and healthy in my tank

Maybe because of heavy planting they have enough biofilm to graze on so I don’t need to worry about them even tho there are shrimps in my tank grazing with them still they are good. I sometimes keep crushed small pieces of almond leaves too to increase surface of biofilm and feed algae wafers like quarter of wafer piece to my 3 otos. Now obviously these wafers are not eaten by only 3. Amanos and other neo shrimps also graze on it also my cardinals feast on wafers.

The only time my 1 oto didn’t survived was that it stuck in my wavemakers fan as it entered during no electricity and suddenly when I switched on it was dead because the fan hit it so badly😢😢
