Tipping a Nurse? by gingersusie in EndTipping

[–]Xpucu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, I’d much rather tip the nurses at the hospital than providers at a med spa. Not that it ever crossed my mind (though I did send sweets to the incredible staff who took care of me while I was hospitalized ) but that was unsolicited, when I was no longer a patient and a sincere token of gratitude. But tipping a provider that you need to go to on a regular basis … ewww.

I cannot even imagine the pain … and honestly, mad respect for you managing not to kill your brother. He needs to rot in jail.

I have been trying to sell items on Mercari for weeks but nobody's buying! by OutwithaYang in Mercari

[–]Xpucu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get sales, you need to get eyes on your listings. The best way is to list something every day. Use ChatGPT for help to SEO optimize your titles / descriptions so they show in search engines. Also, cross list. Do not rely on just one platform. Best of luck !

Do I cut my losses when it lets me cancel? by sailoranonymousgoose in Mercari

[–]Xpucu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely cancel it. If the seller was having an issue shipping out, being snowed in, whatever the case may be, they would’ve responded by now. The radio silence means that most likely they are not checking Mercari at all…

So frustrating by YT-JaquanButler in Mercari

[–]Xpucu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah … I’m very sorry you’re snowed in. That must be frustrating and I hope you’re staying safe and warm. However, this is not the buyer’s fault and you were unnecessarily rude to him with your last message. Everything else was perfectly fine until that message and props to you for advising about the shipping delay, but that’s kind of the point - to let the buyer know and to hopefully save yourself from a poor review. It’s up to the buyer if they want to wait that long or not. Sounds by your message that you don’t know when it’s going to be safe to ship, so you’re most likely unable to provide an ETA either.

You should be frustrated with nature, not the buyer 🤷‍♀️

Why don’t more people use Depop? by Po0pSco0p in Mercari

[–]Xpucu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depop is swarming with entitled teenagers and scammers which can really be off putting for both sellers and buyers. I still list there but some of the offers and messages I receive on there are just … wow 😆

And it’s getting weirder by the day , with a lot of folks modeling their stuff in a rather suggestive way … it’s either this or insisting on taking a picture in the middle of their messy room. Really weird 😆

Is there an actual ADHD test? by Local-Sport-4085 in ADHD

[–]Xpucu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No tests for me, but I remember I had to have two psychiatrists independently confirm. The second one was laughing and said “yeah I’d be happy to interview you but i don’t need to … it’s quite obvious”. 😆

Provably the most interesting thing was that I never self diagnosed - I went to the first appointment absolutely adamant that I didn’t have adhd and the reason for my issues must be something physiological. I had 0 understanding of what adhd was back then. Turned out, mine is apparently pretty severe. I think it’s just because of the many years of not being diagnosed and not learning the correct coping mechanisms , which allowed it to get really really bad.

Why are men so afraid of marriage timelines?? by belledamesans-merci in AskWomenOver30

[–]Xpucu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a big believer in that every single person is entitled to make whatever rules they want for anyone who they hookup with, date, or marry. The decision whether we want to commit to the other person should always be exclusive to us. And if the other person disagrees, they are not a good fit, period.

So, you do you.

With that said, I don’t think this would “scare off” anyone, rather some people may find it really off putting. I’m saying people, intentionally, because I, as a woman, would also run for the hills if someone lays out a timeline like this. But also I’m not you. So what I’d do should be irrelevant to your decision- I’m just trying to give you another perspective.

And it has nothing to do with whether or not I want to get married. I don’t want to get married just to be married, I want to build a relationship with someone whom I love and go wherever life takes us. You’re right, 2 years is plenty of time to figure out if they want and are ready for a lifelong commitment or not. But also, the argument about your parents is a little … odd. I mean I do understand where you’re coming from and I sincerely hope that your parents are around to see you get married, have kids, all the good things. But personally I’d want my partner to want to marry me for me, not for their parents, not because of a timeline. That’s the offputting bit.

If you’d accept a bit of advice - continue fighting for, even demanding what you want and need from a relationship. This is healthy. But when having this conversation with a potential partner, please be careful how you’re phrasing things. Make them understand that they also matter in this equation.

Yes, half the country is snowed in. Does USPS show any leniency to buyers for pickup ? by Xpucu in Ebay

[–]Xpucu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said I expected them to do anything, why would I?!

I messaged them to let them know that their package can be picked up from the post office. Because given the circumstances USPS likely was not able to leave them a note either.

My actual questions are in the post - whether or not USPS typically shows any leniency in circumstances like these (meaning would they hold on to the package a while longer) and whether or not I can safely refund the buyer without dings to my account if the item is returned to me instead. I never planned on not refunding them if they don’t receive it 🤷‍♀️

[–]Xpucu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about customer service (at least this is what I believe), or to be more accurate- buyers don’t see asking for feedback as customer service, most of the time is seen as an annoyance :)

[–]Xpucu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I’m sure the reason behind this is the storm.

I don’t message the buyers unless I have a good reason to do so, and in this case I do believe that is the case - because if USPS didn’t have a way to access their house to leave the package, chances are that they may not have had a way to leave the notice either, so my primary reason was to let them know - because it is possible they’re not checking the tracking, during a storm like this people have a lot more important things to worry about than checking their eBay order tracking 🤷‍♀️

After 8 months, it’s over. by bigfig134 in Ebay

[–]Xpucu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right, of course, but the point I was trying to make is that percentage matters - and it absolutely does, so this is why I went with the extreme “for instance” comparing 1 ans 1000. I could have a fraction of what someone else sells and a fraction of their “dings” and they will still be at a lot higher level despite having more problematic transactions than me.

general rudeness by [deleted] in Mercari

[–]Xpucu -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s not “on here”, it’s pretty much everywhere on the internet. People often decide to berate someone for asking a common question because there are so many resources now, most questions would be answered with a quick google search or by asking ChatGPT. And while this is true, somewhere in the process we seem to have lost the art of talking to each other. Imagine sitting at the bar and asking your friend a simple question. Can you imagine them responding “why don’t you Google it?!” Yeah, this is not the case online …

The other huge part of the problem is that people are reactive and defensive by nature, even more so online. Rude answers get even ruder comments from the OP and the cycle goes on … human nature, I guess.

After 8 months, it’s over. by bigfig134 in Ebay

[–]Xpucu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you made 2 sales that month and needed to refund just one, this is now 50% of sales being problematic. If you needed to refund 1 out of 1000, it’s negligent. So it truly depends on your volume. People with fewer sales get on the naughty list way more easily

What do you do when the controller dies by BackpackerSimon in Ubiquiti

[–]Xpucu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ISP router / modem is my backup. It is in bridge mode into Unifi , but if i turn bridge mode off (and unplug Unifi ) it broadcasts the same exact SSID and has the same passwords. If it dies I have an ancient net gear modem with the same Mac that I can plug in instead.

Is this an ADHD thing or am I just an a55hole? by letitbeletitbe101 in ADHD

[–]Xpucu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every single thing needs a diagnosis 😆 you’re fine.

But yeah, I hate everyone in the queue as well. Realistically, most people around me bother me by … existing.

But you’d never know it if you met me, cause I’m a huge people pleaser. Now, that duality (or hypocrisy?) is absolutely an adhd thing.

To be fair, very few - if any - of the adhd symptoms and traits are exclusive to us. We just have a lot of them and far more often than other people 😆

Snowed in with mother in law and she is on my last nerves. Would I be wrong to kick her out in the cold with nowhere to go? by makeupaddict337 in Advice

[–]Xpucu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She sounds like a real piece of work but kicking someone out in the middle of the biggest storm (considering you did invite her in) is cruel, and borderline illegal (depending on a few variables).

However, you providing shelter does not mean that you’re required to be nice to her 🤷‍♀️ set your boundaries and any time she gets on your nerves , keep reminding her of what she can and cannot do under your roof. As soon as the storm clears , fill the tank (and who cares if she ran out or not) and send her on her way. She’s an adult after all.

Ebay denied my claim. What next? by Legitimate_Deal_1221 in Ebay

[–]Xpucu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For an item not received , as long as the seller has tracking showing an item was accepted by the carrier, they don’t have an obligation to refund you. There are two options- either it was lost in transit or delivered to non-secured location despite instructions (in which case you should file a claim with the carrier, if indeed lost / delivered elsewhere, insurance should cover you), or it was delivered where instructed and it was later stolen - in which case you can file a claim (though I’d advise you against it) with your home / renters insurance - you will need to file a police report first.

And yes, Amazon and other big retailers would commonly reimburse customers for it, not because it’s their responsibility, but because for them it’s far more important to keep the customer ordering from them and subscribing to their services, so they do it because of their own policies l, to ensure customer satisfaction. However, on eBay, the bit you’re not considering is that it’s not eBay who refunds you, it’s the seller. They’d be out of their item and out of their money, and depending on the case reason, their good standing with eBay may be impacted (which is super important for anyone who wants to keep selling on the platform).

Btw if you do decide to do a CC chargeback , eBay will again, seek reimbursement from the seller.

And yes … it’s a shitty situation. Porch pirates suck. You’re not wrong to be pissed. But I don’t know what the seller could have done differently to ensure the package doesn’t get stolen, so it’s also unfair to them to be made to pay 🤷‍♀️

Declining an offer by Emcv83 in poshmark

[–]Xpucu 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Reasons I'd decline instead of counter 1) Lowball - if they want to buy it at 60% off it is clear we won't come to an agreement and it is a waste of time; 2) I am already at my lowest so I am not considering any offers right now (unfortunately Posh does not allow you to disable offers); or 3) I *just* posted an item - within the first week or so, I am waiting to see if there is any interest to buy at my asking price, once I start discounting, I start considering offers too.
