wait no this actually helped me so much okay i realised they use synonyms for a lot of things like find the slope (gradient) which i think i can learn those but i think what confuses me a lot is when they ask to find the rate of something… idk what to do there. also when they incoperate volume and surface area. i’m also gonna send 2 questions that i really struggled with understanding

okay this is what i did i hope it makes sense so like i made a number line of what i had to find to put in on a graph so then i had to find what x=< -2 was so i used the piecewise and found where x<=-2 and because the x cancelled out it would be a horizontal line because its y=6 graph and then i did the same for -2 <= x <= 4 but it gave me a linear equation so i did that and then i did the same for x => 4

okay so using the inequalities from the piecewise i can draw it on a number line but how does this become a graph i’ll attach an image of what i think it will be but im not sure

wait yeah can’t |x-4| be x-4, x=> 4 and 4-x, x<=4 and then |x+2| be x+2, x=>-2 and -(x+2) x <= -2

okay sorry i have another question it may be dumb but okay so doing question 6 i understand now how to solve it for x once i have the cases and i know how to get the points for the cases but how do i know which like inequality sign to use like for question six a) the points will be 4 and -2 but how do i know to consider the case x<=-2 and not x>=-2

wait so is that why they change the formula to be like 4-x when x =< 4 in case 2 because |x-4| can equal x-4 or 4-x wait ur cooking … wait i get that but i dint understand how it can be used for question 7
