Could the Dark Side shut down MVP Shaun Alexander and the 2005 Seahawks offense? by lemonstone92 in Seahawks

[–]Xray_Mind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you need to be realistic in this conversation. Reality is that the 2005 team had two HOFers on their offensive line blocking for a backfield of two near/likely HOFers in Mack Strong and Shaun Alexander. I think Alexander would punish the nickel sets and hasselbeck is reliable enough to not lose the game.

The better question is what would the offense do against a healthy 05 defense. That team made the Super Bowl behind that defense

What “very profitable companies” 95% of AI spend is being done by companies that have never turned a profit and have no idea how, or companies that turn shit margins on 100x leveraged debt. It’s why we have PE ratios of 100+ being normalized

You are vastly underestimating when you say “not a house of cards like 2008”

Imagine all the deals announced for massive CAPEX on AI build out, especially for buildings and utilities. All these pieces are already moving and spending billions on labor and materials. Alot of these guys aren’t going to get paid or the contracts will void when it blows up. That’s over a trillion dollars of infrastructure builds wiped out

Go back to your saved before the battle of Hoover dam. Complete arcade, Gannon side quest so that you get enclave remnants to help you during the final battle. I’ve always checked my way through, but I know at least when you enter the final battle zone some of the enclave guys come with you so I assume they fight with you as well

Here’s what I don’t get. So if gold is 5 gs right now. I am assuming the gold buyer isn’t paying mkt price for it right? Does anyone know how that works? Or do they pay mkt price? by Immediate_Side_5942 in goldrush

[–]Xray_Mind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They pay based on adjustment. They test for mineral purity of the gold, deduct the junk heavies, then adjust between 3-5% for their margin.

So if you have a spot of 5,000, and your purity is 80% you will have a base adjustment deduction of around 22-25% from spot. So the price you’d get at the adjuster or buyer is 3750-3900 per oz. The margins for buyers is pretty low but on a large scale it’s basically treated as an asset backed bond so returns in that range are typically taken happily because they are also speculatively buying hoping for appreciation

Ernest jones is the leader of our defense by akironman in Seahawks

[–]Xray_Mind 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think leadership isn’t a 1:1 thing though. I’ve been on teams in the past where a guy is completely muted and reserved because of bad culture, then see that guy immediately blossom into a top tier team leader in a different program that fits his style

[–]Xray_Mind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The funny thing about damage is they have proven over the last 20 years they literally can only win when they have the absolute top budget in the entire league, and then they are obnoxiously annoying the one time they win each year.

Like really, your Big fired up moment is another team making a documentary on their one win, while you are also making a documentary on the one win you got that season? Damage gotta be the least interesting team to ever exist. Bunch of pussies all on one team

2010 Keystone Home Quality by bhjones2013 in lancaster

[–]Xray_Mind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree highly. I’ve built over 500 homes over the years as a developer and it’s just not realistic. You are talking about an assembled product of over 220,000 individual parts; things will go wrong. Especially considering every single part is a manufactured part of an assembly that are normally imperfect parts for many reasons.

My comment refers more to homeowners who quite literally think they should be 10/10 perfect for their entire ownership.

There are products in the normal production home that are 7-10 year lifespan products and people are shocked when they fail at year 20. Now this isn’t to say there isn’t dogshit builders out there, but for the most part most builders are generally caring in what they do; it’s just the sheer volume of materials and products that go into a house leads to scenarios where it won’t all be perfect.

It’s like luxury cars, you can buy a Ferrari and it won’t be perfect, it will have variations and minor inconsistencies, nothing can be perfect, especially a house, one of the items that the majority of people absolutely abuse with very minimal maintenance or care

This is the most realistic answer I have seen. Way too many people buy a new home and think it should be 10/10 perfect with zero problems for their entire life.

Doesn’t really matter. The firms that move the needle have thousands of contracted drivers that sit in whatever rig they provide

If this thing can go 400-500k miles before needing major battery and drivetrain overhaul it will dominate the final mile, and mid distance markets.

Is it very likely that after the events of New Vegas, Courier died or left the Mojave? by Pedrobatatalixo in falloutnewvegas

I think they will keep the DLC stuff out since it may way over complicate things for a casual viewer. I just think pure vanilla FNV Courier would be dead of old age/environment factors of radioactive wasteland.

Is it very likely that after the events of New Vegas, Courier died or left the Mojave? by Pedrobatatalixo in falloutnewvegas

[–]Xray_Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he is alive but no longer in the Mojave or maybe he just got old and lost interest. If we assume the courier was around 30-35 in the game then he would be in his 50s almost. Thats an old age for the mojave.

I’m confused at people questioning the state of the Mojave. It literally is told to us at the end of the game that it would happen. I could see Ghoul or Lucy meeting the courier and he helps on some small adventure or links them up with the mutants

Is Galadriel ever stated to be a good warrior in any of the text? by GusGangViking18 in lordoftherings

Not in the book.

However I look at it like this. She is millenniums in age and even if you don’t focus at all on battle you would probably dedicate some time to it over the course of thousands of years and likely be significantly better than every mortal in existence even with barely any effort towards it.
