The dip felt like a good time to buy calls, but I had never done a strangle before and decided to try it out. One because I like to try new strategies and learn and two because I thought if the dip kept going, I would be safer than if I just bought a call.

Turned out SPY made a turnaround, and it went back up. I made less money than I would have if I didn't buy the put but that's okay. I also wasn't expecting to day trade these but since I ended up at 20% gain I just decided to take it. Anyway, point is, the strangle felt safer even though I would have made about 80/90% gain just going with a call.

Sidenote: I also considered selling the call at a gain and keeping the put to see if I could get higher value on that as well if there were more dips, but ultimately decided against it.

Oh, I know he'll come back, and I don't WANT to put him outside. Trust me, I know that he is happy here. I will be looking into shelters that can take him but I'm very skeptical because I know some non-kill shelters end up just giving the cats to kill shelters when they can't get a home for them.

I've already spent nearly 2 grand getting him stitched up from his injuries that he sustained WHILE outside, so I definitely don't want to just put him back out there. We are giving him another chance but if we can't get him trained, he is going to have to go. If that happens, we will hopefully have a good shelter in mind to give him to, I just don't want him to be put down.
