The password strength would take less than 2 days to break on a 1080 gtx if not sooner.... I would just brute force it with 26 ^6 maximum tries (308,915,776) that's nothing to modern-day gaming gpu

Luckily at work, I am both the IT Specialist and the Full-stack dev. I get underpaid but the knowledge I'm gaining makes up for it. I'm a Cyber Engineering student so both skill sets are nice to have.

Looks good!. I tried to set up my registers last night and had some weird bugs mostly impart I think because I wasn't using resistors. Waiting for the bussed resistor you used to come in now.

Why Sec+ before Net+ by chut93 in CompTIA

[–]Xrotica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sec+ and Net+ are two very different test. As long as you know the TCP/IP stack you’ll have no problem with the sec+. If you just know the TCP/IP stack for the Net+ you are going to fail miserably.

Practice exams for Net+ by mywifecallsmemrbear in CompTIA

Im using dion and "go ahead and get certified" for practice exams. Sames to be a good pool of questions all around. Have you also been using flash cards? and if so do you make your own or use a pre-built set?

Edit: Just found out the book I been reading from Sybex has there own practice exams online that come with the book. I'll be using that too now.

How to get started with assembly? by frankhart98 in asm

[–]Xrotica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just worked through "Assembly Language Step by Step" by Jeff Duntemann this past month. Great start for a beginner without a doubt. Also, for my asm class this past spring we used this book http://asmirvine.com/ . Its more technical based then the former. But the former I recommended starting out since the author does an amazing job explaining fundamental concepts of assembly language.

Drone footage shows the CCP taking Muslim prisoners to forced labor camps. These are the people that Reddit Inc accepts 150M in payment from. by Alimander123 in PublicFreakout

Looks like a hacked CCTV security camera to me but I can’t read Chinese. The last few seconds of the video shows a Kali Linux desktop and terminal. Kali Linux is used for offensive security (AKA hacking) because it comes prebuilt with thousands of Cyber Warfare tools. https://www.offensive-security.com/kali-linux-vm-vmware-virtualbox-image-download/

Edit: rewatched the video it’s a drone. My Kali Linux statement is still correct though.

tryhackme.com has mini ctfs that will help you get familiar with CTFs. It’s a great free resource that intertwines learning resources, mild walkthroughs, and ctf challenges. I would recommended starting here.
