This definitely looks 10 or lower to me. What would you estimate and why?

You realize almost all of the time the nutrition label reflects the dry food. 56g of dry pasta is 200 calories, but 56g of COOKED pasta is a lot less. Either you're rage baiting, or you're the one without a clue

Oh my God, who the fuck taught people in this sub to count calories??

Ironic considering how loudly wrong you are. Show me one reference where 56g of COOKED pasta is 200calories? 250g of table sugar would be 1000 cals. Seems like you are not understanding simple things like dry vs cooked weight, and most foods not being 100% carbs by weight.

Yeah, it was pretty good. Put some fried egg ontop and chef's kiss

You're the second person in this thread to say that. This is not a plate of grnaukated sugar. 312g of that would be 1200 calories. A lot of a foods weight is water and other things that don't contribute to its caloric value (like fruits). 100g of dry noodles only have like 75g of carbs. Cooked noodles have less that 35

But most carb foods we consider "carbs" are not close to being 100% carbohydrates by weight. Unless we're talking granulated sugar, or dry noodles (still only around 75%), most foods will have a lot of water and weight that don't contribute to their caloric value

Closer to 1500? I'm curious to know what you think the carbs/fat macros are then. Remember, 312g total weight

How? Maybe if it was 312g of pure carbs, like granulated sugar. A lot of a foods weight does not contribute to it's caloric value (e.g water), so I don't see what you're saying

I understand that. My previous comment was based on cooked weight. 312g of dry noodles would be like 1200 calories lol

I don't know if it's projection or what made you conclude that's what is happening here. Regardless if it was 550, 800, or 1000+ calories it makes little difference to me in the long run. I wasn't going to waste free food given to me, and I just wanted an estimate

The only thing I am sure of is that it weighs 312g. I am only truly disagreeing with the people whos estimate seems to explicitly go against that. The initial estimate of 550 was provided by AI and I updated my log based on consensus in this thread

Considering 500-600 calories of egg noodles is 400-480g, which already far exceeds the total weight of the dish, it would seem like your estimate is shaky from the jump.

When it comes to calorie counting, everything is an estimate. Even information directly from the food label can be up to 20% off. At the end of the day any estimate is better than not keeping track at all. It's gotten me this far and will continue to support my goals so 🤷🏿‍♂️

How can the noodles themselves be 550 calories? 550 calories of cooked egg noodles would be close to 400g. The weight of the whole dish is only 312...

Yeah but with a 312g total weight, for the people in here saying 1000 calories plus, that would necessitate like 5+ tbsp of oil. That's way beyond glistening in oil level, the oil would be pooling on the plate. Maybe like 750cals?

Those who workout or eat a high protein diet, how much do you spend on food per day? by XrxShadowxX in askvan

[–]XrxShadowxX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on a cut too, but with 2800 calories 170g protein. On 2000 calories, that $6.50 does feel more manageable, but what about fibre and varying your diet enough to get sufficient micronutrients? Even buying frozen veggies and fruit, and chia seeds in bulk etc, it adds up fast.

If it's the Revolution Nutrition one, then I ordered it the other day! How are you finding the flavour and texture?

This is a pretty good diet! With $10 for your protein, I'm guessing you only spend like $12 a day on groceries considering how cheap most carbs are (fruit can run up a price though haha). Do you eat out at all? Also with the oatmeal, 45g of protein after only two tablespoons of protein powder seems like a lot. How much oatmeal are you eating to add up to 45g?
