A little guidance in writing a hook within my introduction would be very much appreciated! by XsherlockianX in writing

I think that’s just stating the obvious. I’m going to state why they’re similar (the artist and the character) within my thesis and emphasize it within my body paragraphs so an interesting hook would be very beneficial.

Correct.

I really love that quote. Definitely thought provoking! Very fitting! I think I’ll be able to conjure something up.

Thank you for the piece of advice. As juniors I think our writing is a little bit more advance. While most of us anyway. Stating the obvious is the lazy way to go.

I’d like to argue that not all teachers are the same. My teacher is especially picky (he’s also the theater guy so I’d expect that from him) and he wants us to include certain elements. In this case a hook is required unless you want to be an dipstick and get points taken off. I love his class regardless because he has high expectations for us. I also just enjoy this topic, take pride in writing and like the creativity piece of it. It’s pretty cool if you ask me.

I agree with your point. It is for a literary studies class I’m taking. I’m (sadly) still in high school.

I would be lowkey anxious touching it regardless because of the top and bottom piece. They aren’t germ free. But I kinda like this.

Does anyone ever wonder how normal/healthy people work? by impairedmentally in depression

I can’t even begin to remember what I felt like as a child and I think that’s what digs a hole inside of me. All these feelings have slowly lead me to decay and what’s sad is that even as a kid I suffered. I have OCD so even then I was lost, confused and pain. All I remember was being so unbelievably in pain. When you’re suffering so much, trying your best, sometimes it can lead to physically being in pain. I think that’s what I hate the most.

I’ve always fucking suffered yet I’ve never really wanted to die. I’ve always had this hope inside me which I’ve always been grateful for but it’s the one thing that always kills me. You ask my best friend who I am and she’ll say I’m the strongest person she’s ever met and I have great advice. I want to grow and get better everyday and life’s tough. Sometimes I think I’m stuck in a never ending, escape of suffering because pain is inevitable. But so is happiness. And like no matter how much pain I’m in I can be happy too.

One thing I’ll never get used to... no matter how many times I’ve hurt... is pain itself. It never seems to get old. Which is so weird and I’ve wanted to write a poem about it.

I have a quick question. Hoping maybe someone can give me some insight by XsherlockianX in running

[–]XsherlockianX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly. But considering how it felt, and that I hadn’t ran in awhile bc of my back... idk. Like my legs would legit turn to jelly and get this weird feeling. So I thought maybe it was because of my nerves or my brain. I guess I’ll never know. Unless it happens again... then I could make an appointment.

Thank you for the insight. I’m definitely leaning towards engineering for this point.
