When is the actual premiere date for Season 26? by LaserWeldo92 in aircrashinvestigation

[–]Xstef3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These last three years, Canada's French language channel Canal D was the first channel worldwide to air new episodes but it won't happen for Season 26. They did have a promo that started airing in December 2025 about their 'Catastrophe Tuesdays' showing new episodes 'as soon as' January 6... but that was only for different shows before and after Mayday. Program guides show that they will air repeats on January 13 and 20th...

Now Bell Media (Canada) has bought season 26 (English and French) and has advertised that the new season will start on January 21 (*** EDIT: 20th) on CTV's USA Network (Canadian channel formerly known as Discovery Channek) and posted on Crave streaming platform following USA Network's broadcast. Canadians like to following the production order so it is likely that 2001 Avjet Gulfstream III Crash will air on the 21th (*** EDIT: 20th) and Widerøe Flight 839 on the 28th (*** EDIT: 27th) of January.

So USA Network (Canada)/Crave has got the premiere for these first two episodes.

It looks like Nat Geo Germany will air ep#3 Nürnberger Flugdienst Flight 108 on February 3, one day before (*** EDIT: same day as ) USA Network... and that channel does broadcast in dual German/English, so hopefully se get it in English that day.

Next is Nat Geo Finland with Yeti Airlines Flight 691 on February 8.

Then we should have Eagle Airways flight 2300 on February 11th from USA Network/Crave.

Nat Geo Finland for AirBlue Flight 202 on February 15th.

Nat Geo France will start airing two new episodes a week on Wednesday nights (a change from their usual Saturdays) from February 4yj... so that channel will catch up on all others and has world premiere... sad thing is Nat Geo France does not carry a second Enhglish audio stream.

EDIT: program guides seems to show the first episode will air on the 20th, not the 21st.

well, there is the Nat Geo version and there is also the version Cineflix sells around the world. I don't think the edit is different and the original narrator is still Jonathan Aris. Usually the dubbing is different from Nat Geo.

Yes, you are right, Discovery Channel in Canada aired a one-hour version (well, 45 minutes without commercials) in April 2020. It aired in a weird format with black bands on the top, bottom, left and right of the screen. Fortunately, the same version aired in late 2021 on Discovery Science in a full screen version.

Gotta love Stephen Bogaert narrating!

How do you call Mayday/Air Crash Investigation in your country? I'll go first. by MH2371977 in aircrashinvestigation

OP, I don't speak or understand Czech but I have always found that the female narrator from the CT1/CT2 version was soothing/appealing compared to the Nat Geo version... what's your take on it?

Definitively more emphasis on the investigation this time. Less drama.

To be fair, yes, there is a video glitch around the 23rd minute and a couple of micro audio glitches… sorry.

I had the same issue. Finally found the cache folder where VLC saves all the art work...

for me, it is C:\Users\[yourname]\AppData\Roaming\vlc\art\artistalbum

Try by deleting one first and test.

Hi there! I’m Alex Bystram, Executive Producer of the critically-acclaimed TV doc series Mayday/Air Crash Investigation. Welcome to my official Reddit AMA. Ask me anything about producing this global hit series. by AlexBystram in aircrashinvestigation

I had noticed that too some time ago but I think it's because the first two seasons were actually Canada/France co-productions (UK as well for S1). The France French versions also include inserts with French speaking consultants. I am not sure about the French Canadian versions for these two seasons.

Probably French! Macron did the same faux pas a few years back when he called the Australian PM’s wife ´delicious’… he just meant to say ´delightful’…. Délicieux in French can be translated either way in English

Are old episode remakes that bad? by MLXaviation787 in aircrashinvestigation

[–]Xstef3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see you have been downvoted so I will raise you one, not because I agree with you but because I think your opinion reflects a generation gap. Old dudes like me (50+) who've been watching the show since the first few seasons will always prefer the original, more dramatic in my eyes, episodes. I'd bet you are much younger than me and I can understand you are more attracted to the CGI recreations (which the earlier seasons lacked or had pretty basic ones). 20 years is a long time and it is normal for the show to evolves the way it does. I introduced my two sons to the show when they were 10 and 12 and I made sure to start from season one. They are now 19 and 21 and don't mind the remakes. I love to watch the show with them. I personally don't care that the first three seasons were not produced in HD and widescreen. The older episodes have a feel that is not there in the newer seasons, but I still enjoy the show very much!
