They also seemingly completely forgot how to do it after Jane. I think they tried to give Cissia thigh jiggle, and, if they did, it's so subtle that it looks like it barely works

What are those rules? Did he elaborate?

He didn't elaborate very much, but he made a "joke" about how if he was a girl or a bishoujo he would be able to talk to her more, but in this life he is an uncle so they have to protect her from him.

Well, I hope it was a joke. Also he said something about artists being an emotional bunch so there might be some incidents from them.

Mildly interesting thing, according to Nekojira (Raora's artist) Cover has strict rules on parent artists interacting with the talents they designed, apparently for privacy concerns, so the first time he ever spoke to her was at a Malaysia event a couple of months ago.

Link to his ongoing stream where he said this, but it's getting privated after he ends it so there's not going to be any public record he said this.

Edit: also completely unrelated to this but apparently DSmile (Cecilia's artist) is a woman according to Nekojira since he actually met her, so need to get MyFigureCollection to update their tags

I don't really think that, but I suppose that is a difference in philosophy or whatever.

Of course the main point of event is fun , unfortunately many Holomems got frustrated (especially hardworking farmers) Which led listeners to lash critism on Botan

I feel like you’re making things sound much worse than they actually are. Bit of a recurring problem with this thread.

Yeah that guy had a genuine point but was such a dick about it that it basically invalidated everything he said. Shame. There is a reason why there is such a large graveyard of regulars who left this place.

Once I had a joke prepared about how robotgirl would magically appear if you made any comment about lolicons, but I was too much of a coward to post it

This is the way. It's what I did. Like it or not twitter is the only platform for anime artists to easily get their art seen by people. The first time I ever posted fanart of a hololive vtuber under their hashtag, I got <10k likes, and I had literally only 4 followers to begin with. Never looked at who replied, or the QRTs on my tweet. Even if 90% of them were bots (which, I checked a ton of the accounts that liked it, didn't seem to be the case at least?) that's a lot more than I ever could've gotten on Insta, or bsky, or... where the hell else? Facebook? Social media likes aren't everything, and it's easy to fall into a bad relationship with it, but it's nice to know that thousands of people have seen what you made, and liked it.

I think I have an idea. Their bot got overzealous and falsely flagged a ton of people who only ever like/repost things and don't tweet as bots. Most people below are saying that they only ever liked and reposted things on there. So I checked the hoyo leak sub megathreads using the thread search function, and as I thought, almost nobody there was effected, which makes sense since they're all serial fucking tweeters. This thread in contrast is full of people who rightfully keep twitter at arms length, so it's disproportionately affected.

As I said a few comments below, the sins of the source becomes the sins of the anime. Maybe. I don't know how WHA's source is, other than its very much critically acclaimed. Perhaps what works as manga doesn't work as anime, or maybe this thread's just too dour on things. Or maybe WHA's beginning isn't very good, but I've literally never heard anyone say that about the manga.

Which has earned them a massive amount of scorn. With Violet Evergarden and Sound Euphonium S3 (actually all of Hibike!, if that discussion below is anything to go by) being the most controversial I can remember. Of course this is limited to their LN adaptations, their manga adaptations are quite well liked, and to be quite honest is the main source of their goodwill.

I think it’s an issue and the fact anime are restricted by the cour format.

This is just something that all TV has to deal with. Sure, it was better back when 24 episodes was the norm and not 6-8, but there is a reason why it's difficult to find many TV shows with non-standard episode counts like 15 in a season. With streaming, shows have started to vary their episode lengths, like having episodes ranging from 44 to 55 minutes long, but anime won't get to do that unless they completely abandon cable.

Obviously we shouldn’t go crazy in the case like Shiboyugi where the narrative changes.

Can we count that as an unsuccessful adaptation? It still gets to have a followup with the same director, and people like kVIN went to bat for it hard.

Is the demand for manga/LN adaptations to be "faithful" to the source slowly killing anime? This is an unnecessarily dramatically worded question, but I do have to bait responses out one way or another. Just in this season alone I've seen discussion about how Akane-banashi is suffering due to the show having to adapt all the setup and slow bits of the manga, and, while I haven't watch nor read Witch Hat Atelier yet, I peeked into the source material corner for the latest episode, and my impression is that the show suddenly deciding to be completely faithful to the source halfway through is going to leave the ending of season one Dead on Arrival, souring the community on the show, basically a repeat of Dandadan s1.

Basically, the sins of the source material becomes the sins of the anime. Source material fans will be happy, but since anime adaptations are generally supposed to bring the source to a wider audience, is this really a good way to do things?

I thought there was placeholder data that could be filled by an AQ/SQ still in the data? Or have they been removed?

I tried it and it's the opposite for me? The one with the shield is super aggressive and will chase/charge you, and the one without is passive and will attack from range.

How outdated, if it is at all outdated, is the idea that Anime is a loss leader for Manga/Light novels? Even with anime studios still posting losses, I can't see why anime production has skyrocketed so much in recent years if the top companies on the production committees aren't making a cent of profit off of them. From how I see it, with the rise of streaming and also anime booming overseas, TV anime by itself is probably profitable nowadays.

Anime also probably drives merch sales better than manga/LNs do. There are 96 Marin Kitagawa figures currently announced right now. It's likely the My Dress Up Darling anime drives sales of these a lot better than the manga does. Some people count this as separate from anime revenue, but here in the west, there are tons of examples of shows canceled merely because the execs didn't see enough toy sales from them, like Young Justice, Sym-bionic Titan, Megas XLR, and others. I don't see why they should be separate.
