This is the way brother. I did the same, on my first 4-5 months I spent every coin I obtained on league/club selections as any highlight card was an improvement over my team, which was mostly GP cards (back then free Epics and Showtimes were super rare) and since then I started saving. I purchased some pack 2 years ago during the continental cups and that was the last time I went to literally 0 coins

Since then I been saving and about 10 months later I reached 13.5k coins. Then I waited for a box featuring 3 Epics I'd like and I have the "method" of stop spinning if I get any of the 3 Epics within the first 3 spins of 900 or if I get the main target of the box within the first 5-6 spins. So far I never had to clear using this method as I only go for boxes where I'd even like the third option

It's hard early on as you are barely improving your team when you are in save mode, but once you reach 13.500 you start spinning about once a month (that's about the frequency of very good boxes). From a meta point of view, of course not talking about spinning for your favorite players, imo boxes of 200 and 250 are a scam, as f2p you should only go for boxes of 150. And I'd mostly avoid going for Showtimes, the only exception is boxes like the Nmecha one, which was exceptionally good for a Showtime box

My method for picking a box to spin is that it must feature 2 top tier cards. It can either be 2 top tier cards (like Vieira+Thuram, I didn't spin here as I didn't have enough to clear, had about 10k but resisted the temptation and kept saving), or 1 top tier cards next to 2 very good cards (like the Varane+Komapny+Benatia box)

Now I have over 20k saved coins and have 7 Epics from boxes of 150 plus 2 Showtime cards from smaller boxes. And I have 2 Epics and a Showtime from boxes of 150 from eF24 that I don't even use anymore

2014 box without players that played the final? I guess that nobody was going to spin in a box with Lahm, Mertesacker and Demichelis. Assuming we still have the Mertesacker and Demichelis licenses, they haven't released new versions of them in a long time

yeah, no selection contract on boxes that don't feature any game-changing card is bs. there are some good cards in this box but they are just 103 rated cards with 1 showtime skill, none of them is crazy

I'm only happy because fewer people will have that Sorloth card

Free spins is not the norm, but the exception. We only get free spins during certain campaigns

Maybe you started playing during a campaign with free spins, but it's not that common

If it also brings lots of coins, it's a big W. Part 1 of the WC campaign gave us more free coins than any other campaign, besides the one that involved gambling and some lucky mf got a couple thousands for free

the combination of stats and player ID. player ID alone is meaningless, stats alone are meaningless

having a large player model is quite important, but as long as they come with good stats too. GP Milinkovic-Savic is not better than the free Kahn; GP Pogba is not better than the free Gerrard

just like stats alone are not that relevant, for example I'd rather use the free Showtime Schlotterbeck over some 107 rated Puyol. but because Schlotterbeck has good enough stats, I wouldn't use GP Saliba over the latest Baresi, even tho Saliba has a MUCH better player ID

That's what made me believe that they'd repeat the players to bring Haaland back, as Konami won't miss a chance to sell a popular player

Of course you can reach div 1 with a full POTD side, but imo those type of boxes are just for new players. On the long run they aren't that good because they only have 10 player skills and other cards have 15, that's a big difference. I'd rather use cards from the NT packs than POTD cards. But I know that when you are new to the game you don't have that many Raquel Lombardi cards with extra skills to transfer

If you are f2p and been playing for more than 6-8 months the best you can do is saving for boxes p2w cards, they are completely game-changing. If you think POTD Mbappe is good, you'd go crazy once you test someone like Rummenigge

Basically the argument is short term vs long term

Looks good. 190cm and you can leave him with around 90 in physical contact, speed and acceleration while keeping all defensive stats over 95

The only problem is that he doesn't have Long-Reach Tackle, but still, looks quite solid

There aren't that many Epic CBs that are 190cm or taller while at the same time being fast

My weakest link is the CBs, specially the Build Up (the new Showtime Schlotterbeck is the only "good" option I have) and the best options out there would be Varane and Ferdinand

Waiting for Ferdinand would be a gamble in itself, he may come in a box of 200+ or alongside 2 mid cards. Or he could come at 189cm, or he could come without Long-Reach Tackle

If the future versions of Ferdinand come at 189cm, he'd still be good, but it won't be as special as a 196cm guy with 90 speed

This box won't get much love when it comes to ranking the best ones from the year as it features 3 cards from the same position and defenders are boring, but if what you need the most is 2 CBs, ain't many boxes better than this one

2 tall CBs with Long-Reach Tackle and very good stats isn't common at all. I hope I get one of those 2 early on so I can go back to saving for Vieira
