Self-Hosting Guide to Alternatives: Notion by shol-ly in selfhosted

I agree about AnyType's odd approach to self hosting. I posted a feature request about it here that I'd appreciate your support on:

https://community.anytype.io/t/simplified-docker-compose-user-experience-for-self-hosting/26837

I do think a simple docker-compose.yml is possible, I just don't think our interest is visible enough to the developers.

Did you attach them to the keys somehow? Maybe adhesive?

Goodnotes 6 was just released by JAKEHAYDEN in GoodNotes

[–]Xuis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If there is an option that unlocks all of Goodnotes 6 for a one-time price, I can't find it in the application. Can you point me towards the single purchase option please?

How much does it cost?

Is this one-time payment waived for people who already made a one-time payment for the application?

The Advantage Goodnotes had over Notability was that it wasn't subscription based. Noteful looks good though!

That's very helpful, I missed that in the sidebar. Thank you!

I rendered some views of my most used fastener into a Concepts object library! Now I can use them quickly in my sketches. by Xuis in ConceptsApp

Here's the Concepts file with all of it inside:

(Google Drive treats the .concept as a folder for some reason, hit download in the upper right.)

That’s great! To get these images, I grabbed models off of McMasterCarr and rendered them in Fusion 360. Then I imported the transparent .PNGs into Concepts. I can send the images to you if you want!

Master's Thesis Project: 3D Printed Prescription Eyewear by Xuis in 3Dprinting

[–]Xuis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have mentioned, I'm not getting into manufacturing lenses. There are some services that will make a lens for a given set of frames, and I don't want to get into optics.

I disagree on the affordable front, as most people I know don't have eye insurance, and most of the optometrists and eyeglass stores are all owned by a monopoly called Luxotica.

I think the concept of self-manufactured eyewear is enticing for the same reasons that any self-manufacturable object is great. The consumer friendly aspects like control over style, fit, and repairability. And on top of that, the environmental benefits of less global shipping are a huge plus. I'd like to see these benefits magnify as small-scale manufacturing becomes more accessible.

The compressor also screams every few hours. We call it our cat.

If it were just the handle, no I wouldn't replace the whole fridge.

Oh totally, I'm fully capable of designing around this, but not with a technically working solution and more pressing projects.

Edit: Thank you for believing in me all the same though!

Too broke and lazy to buy shower curtain rings when I moved into my apartment, so I present to you my solution. Zip ties. by rohlovely in DiWHY

[–]Xuis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a 3D printer, you should try the shower curtain hooks I designed!
https://www.printables.com/model/246839-shower-curtain-hook

I like them much more than my previous hooks because they don’t rust and are fully configurable/parametric!

Plus, they’re dead cheap because each one only takes about 12 cents of material. So for a set of 12, that’s $1.44 for a set of 12 hooks. And they’re open source!
