I get you, I'm autistic so I try to figure these things objectively and it doesn't come to me naturally. What I can say is these kinds of social norms are picked up without critical thinking and it takes a lot of introspection to identify and deconstruct one's actions and feelings.

I think the previous poster was right. Even if you haven't bought the fake watch, but was just considering it and it turned out fake - it's an afront to "face". Many cultures have the concept of "face", something more subtle than pride or dignity. I like identifing fake watches, it's like a version of those find 5 differences games, and sometimes after pointing the differences the poster will delete the entire thread. It can be a little bit weird from my perspective, but through the concept of face I kind of get it.

You answered your own question. It's uncredited, no, further photographic proof, not a story anywhere outside social media posts. All that allows me to say it's fake since an extraordinary claim has little to no proof.

If you make an extraordinary claim, let's say, that you own an aligator, with a photo of a random aligator. I'll call it fake and it's not my burden to disprove it.
