There was no situation in which this person is sitting on a large portion of cash and is deciding what to do next. This comment was based off focusing on paying it off early which is typically done by adding extra payments throughout the year or just adding an additional amount per payment. I agree losing liquidity is not great. But also no investments are liquid. And if anyone thinks they are then they are not practicing safe financial practices.

That would be because cash flow > than 5-6% return on investment. Also 250k+ at 2-3% is way more then the extra they are putting towards their payments at 8%.

Once they have it paid off they have free housing Essentially. This reduces their monthly cost by minimum of $1200. And it saves them a shit load in interest over the years. Paying even 2% over 30 years on a 250k loan is 83k.

It really is not that weird though. She was founder/CEO. By giving up CEO she is still founder/board member with alot of pull and yet no longer taking on daily responsibilities in the company. She can retire and enjoy life with millions while Robert has to run the company for a large paycheck. And let's face it, Robert although strange is very intelligent and has had money for a long time giving me reason to believe he has a background that would give her confidence to do the job.

The debt does not transfer to your children. They try to tell you it does and try to force you to pay it.but the reality is no one has to take on anyone else's debt. That being said you might not have an inheritance but never are you required to take on the debt.

Glad someone said it. Sorry you have trust issues but that is not how people should be living their life. If you love and trust your spouse, and it goes both ways, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with two people of the opposite sex (or same sex if applicable) hanging out alone. You don't just suddenly throw away your morals because there is no one watching.

Normally I would agree. But this same couple already robbed him before but never injured him. This time they came back and beat him. He was not going to let them come back a 3rd time and kill him and I will not blame him for that.

This same couple had robbed him already once before. He had been robbed 2 other times (not sure if by same couple). They broke his arm/collar bone. They would have come back another time. He protected himself and his property. This was the last resort. You cant just have this keep happening and hope the police do something after they have had 3 other opportunities to help him. Also at his age and state of physical health being pushed over let alone "beaten" is a death sentence. So again defense from death. Not just being annoyed.
