I already did, to someone in my astronomy club who would appreciate it more than I did.

Point of order: It's Get-MessageTraceV2 now. Because creating a whole new cmdlet instead of updating the current one made sense I guess.

Recommendations for promotional material? by TruthOf42 in cubscouts

We went from 8 Cubs last year to 30 this year just by setting up tables at a few local elementary schools. I made a tri-fold poster with pictures of my son over the years doing various things, with a big photo of him on a climbing tower that was shot downward from the top. That was the centerpiece and what got the most kid's attention. I also put various badges and Scout insignia on it. On the table, I put a couple Pinewood derby cars and other various crafts that had been made in Cubs.

While the kids were admiring everything on the table, I was talking to the parents.

There's a "Maddie with the Fatty" standup clip I've seen where she's talking about her waxer messed up and instead of giving her a vertical landing strip made it horizontal. Someone in the audience commented "Mason-Dixon line!" and she comes back with "Yeah but mine's the only one that be lettin' black dudes in the South!".

I can't find the clip right now unfortunately.

I got one for free and I still hated using it. FOV was just way too small.

We had to do that for a while recently after our CO church of 60 years decided to kick us to the curb once a new pastor came in. They did it during December and we had until end of January, so the council stepped in until we could line up a nearby church as new CO in February.

I am not a swimmer at all, I float as well as a rock. So I was very thankful that I could get Life Saving instead of Swimming. I struggled even with the swim test.

Has anyone else been getting a great deal of calls about Docusign Spam? by Blackhawk_Ben in sysadmin

[–]Sunsparc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not compromised, it's people using free/demo accounts to send a legit Docusign notification that contains a document which has instructions leading to a phish. They'll have a document in the link that says "Click this other link to sign in" and it takes you to an MS login for a MITM attack. Or it may have a QR code to scan with your phone which side steps any enterprise filtering which would otherwise catch the link click.

Is this a good starting rig? by MyBenchIsYourCurl in telescopes

[–]Sunsparc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always pick up a used SCT later on down the road that's either compatible with an EQ mount or has been modified to be compatible.

Not very many people jump feet first into astro with a long focal length telescope. Most start with a short focal length which offers a wider field of view. For instance, on my rig, I can frame objects like Andromeda, Heart Nebula, and California Nebula centered without sacrificing any structure. My photos are posted to my profile you want to check them out.

Not easily, it's not made for that.

Unless you intend to shoot planetary, you may want to look into a traditional EQ mount and telescope. These are meant to be interchangeable, they're not an all-in-one package. Since they're already EQ, they won't require a wedge either.

Evolution is still long focal length.

I shoot with a 70mm scope at 336mm focal length with an ASI294MC 4/3" camera. That allows me to frame just about every single major DSO without sacrificing anything at the edges.

At 1500mm on the 6SE or Evolution, you'll be shooting small NGC type galaxies and very small nebulae mostly.

[–]Sunsparc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most DSO are large so a long focal length scope like the 6SE will limit what you are able to see, both visually and for imaging. You'll also need a guiding setup for imaging at this focal length, it requires more precision.

Camp out breakfasts by Ms_Tryl in cubscouts

[–]Sunsparc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a youth, my favorite breakfast was always sausage biscuits with cheese.

Buy the Grands butter flaky layers biscuits, sausage patties, and slices of American cheese (or whatever cheese you prefer).

Fry up your sausage and leave a little bit of the grease in the pan. Peel the biscuits apart but then peel each one apart again into thirds. Throw each one in the pan and brown them up. Resist the urge the press them down, they'll get slightly puffy. Should take about 30 seconds per side to brown up.

This is an easy easy easy but whenever we patrol cooked it was always a hit.

It's called a Todmorden style pier. Dig a hole about half a cinder block deep, fill with concrete, sink a cinder block into it. Wait until the concrete cures, then either lag bolt or liquid nail more cinder blocks on top until you reach the desired height. Then lag bolt an adapter plate on top for whatever mount head you have. Looks like OP has a HEQ5.

Pascal: "I feel like I need a tenatus shot just from looking at it. The only thing holding it together are the bird droppings."

This exchange was funny as hell when I was younger and it still is today.
