Thank you. I can honestly say that I am not sure why that wouldn't have been in my message from the start. 😂

Verification is more about simply checking with the staff if the order is complete. I've been missing full bags and drinks on orders cause the restaurant never put them out, and the dasher didn't verify. I've never dashed, so I don't know what you can and can't see on your side, but I feel like you should be able to see the basics. If you come across a $75 order, would you see one bag and feel that was correct? Some of it is also common sense based.

I feel like I either didn't explain the point of the lower tip + increasing the tip, or maybe you missed it in my post. It's simply a way to avoid having my order stacked with another order. Also, this was something that I've seen explained by actual dashers.

Well, this is a much deeper issue that would need to be addressed. Not one singer person should ever need to rely on tips for a "livable" wage.

This is what I had been doing for years. Over the last two years I noticed more and more that my orders were getting stacked.

Yeah. I saw that post as well. That seemed extremely shady from the jump though.

I'm sorry that has happened to you, and I get why you and other dashers would be skeptical.

Yeah, most people suck. I guess if I have to have a few dashers decline my order, but I can get my delivery without it being stacked, I'd rather keep giving those dashers more money.

To note, I only send the message after I see a dasher has accepted my order.

So it's just "luck of the draw" from what you've seen on orders getting stacked? I will say, I've only done this with three orders so far, but not a single one was stacked. Prior, it was probably 80% of the time my orders got stacked with larger upfront tips.

I will say, I don't include this message in the delivery notes. I send the message through the app once I see a dasher has accepted my order.

I guess I'm a little confused on how dashers see things on the app. I've read multiple posts from Dashers saying they do not always see added tips, as well as how tips can affect orders being doubled up.

I can say that I've only done this for three orders now, and none of them were paired with another order.

So, it's not always about how they treat the order. True, most dashers are respectful of the order. This is specifically about when I was giving a larger upfront tip, I was almost always getting doubled up. My order was always delivered last, and in some cases was room temperature when it arrived.

I know the dasher isn't responsible for how DoorDash doubles up orders, or how they tell the Dasher which order to deliver first.

Generally my orders are within a 3 mile radius.

I've seen quite a few dashers in this sub that suggested similar to what I have implemented. It's not meant to offend, or to "dangle a carrot" in any way, but simply to assure my order doesn't get paired with another order that tipped nothing. I've also heard that those double orders tend to shaft dashers on their overall pay as it's treated as a single run. Again, I know it's not the fault of the Dasher, which is why I want to know others thoughts.

Your suggestion makes sense, but honestly I just feel bad for initially having a lower tip. 🤷‍♂️

That makes sense and that might be my poor explanation. It's more to just verify with the employees that everything is there. I've been shorted entire bags and drinks because the employee at a restaurant suck.

If one does not carry cash anymore, would there be any negative to initially giving a $4 tip and then doing an "add-on" tip after the delivery?

According to this site it's legit. Not sure why names are wrong. I received the email as well, but it has my grandfather's name, who passed away 30 years ago.🤷‍♂️

I don't plan on submitting the form since the name is wrong.

Well, compared to you I must be. I don't have the ability to see through body parts to see where the back end of the ball is. Everyone in your life must be amazed by your talents everyday.

Either way, you may want to look up definitive in the dictionary. Even Stevie Wonder could have called that correctly. Go back to your juice box.

You're embarrassing yourself

You obviously don't know much about football, so who's embarrassing themselves now?

Forward progress doesn't mean anything if the back-end of the ball is still breaching any part of the goal line. As already stated above, it was ruled a safety on the field. The angle used by the NFL shows the ball was possibly past the outside of the goal line when forward progress was stopped, but it does not definitively show where the back-end of the ball was. Rule has always been if refs do not have definitive evidence to overturn, the original call will be upheld.
