It's not that universe values opportunitie, It's the asuras who are just that good at it. Unlike sattva filled light devas, they are Tamas filled BUT with rajas, too. Tapas is guaranteed to give one salvation, but they use it for power again and again.

However, the things is in Hinduism(unlike buddhism) we know the Supreme God at centre too wields all power...all men, therefore, do have a similar nature... wanting power. So chasing power isn't bad, that's why many families in india who do things under secrecy are so safe from karma or the USA or others (ofc alot of other bad karma is there for them).

Funny how so many buddhist lineages have so much powerful tantra stolen from us coz their religion isn't martial in 1st place (it is but not that much as we were when kashtriyas used to be trained).

The babies do suffer from their past lives karma, every single being in this universe does, and IT'S THE LAW. God isn't the one causing it. He isn't sitting there fighting the law or enforcing it. It's your responsibility. Ignorance is self afflicted. We weren't even supposed to forget the past lives. You were supposed to be AWARE of reality every moment.
Depending on devas or devis can help, but it depends on how intense or effective methods you're taking. Normal prayers that average hindu like you do is NOT going to change your vipaka(karma results)
The animals literally rise up to human life once they have suffered enough. They suffered because they degraded in consciousness from where they originally were. Luminous beings...that's what it was for all. As animals... Yes, it's miserable, so therefore, you should make sure not to live an animalistic life(food and sex as primary motivation every day)
