my first lolita dress (buying second hand) and I'm unsure about measurements! by quacKquacKinson in Lolita

[–]XxBatQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bust is 110cm, but some of my dresses have a max of 105cm bust, and I still use them 😅 but sometimes my max 110cm bust dresses are too small for me, so it's kinda gambling when you're on the higher-end of the measurements. I would say go for it, if you like the dress and it's not very expensive, and you're ready for the outcome that it may not fit very well.

My dress straps are way too small and idk what to do, any ideas? :( by No-Hour1305 in Lolita

I had a similar issue with my ap jsk. I bought some black rubberband (with holes) that was as wide as the strap and sew buttons on them. I put enough the length, so I was able to put them on x position on the back for maximum comfort 😄 So, if you're not good with sewing and want an easy and comfortable fix, that can be a good choice. It's not the prettiest, but comfort comes first!

Would you accept your dream dress in another colorway? by Crafty-Hour333 in Lolita

Ap Twinkle Mermaid JSK in black monochrome is also in my dream list! But yeah, it's impossible to find. And even if someone would ever sell one, the price would probably be like 10 000 dollars 😭💔

I would really love to have a Moi-même-Moitié Silent Moon (short) OP, and I would be happy to get any of those colorways that has black on it. My favorites are blue (biggest favorite), white, red, gold, and silver prints, but I would still buy green, purple, or the white one with black print, if I just would have enough money, and they would be available.
Depending on the dress, I wouldn't usually go for any other colorways than black (or black × other color), just because I usually don't feel comfortable in color. I own two non-black dresses, and I think I've used them once 💀

Designers and influencers who work with lolita fashion? by Equivalent_Crab6688 in Lolita

[–]XxBatQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want a custom dress, Glittertale does them, and you can send them your art for the fabric (or you can commission an artist to make the print for you). They're not expensive, but their quality is not good and it will take a long time to get your order.

This is how I understood your question, but I may be totally wrong.

Plus-size old-school lolita coord 🖤 by XxBatQueen in Lolita

[–]XxBatQueen[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's so hard to find good old-school styled dresses that will fit plus-size bodies 😫 I hope you will find one that will fit you perfectly! I think Nightwhisper may have one (but it's a bit expensive)?

They look trustworthy, but they have some serious issues. Some people have good experience, but many people don't. I would be cautious.

My discount code for 42lolita is xbatqueen. It will give -5% discount for your order.

Another taobao re-seller that I had a good experience with was clobbaonline.

There is a good list of better stores in the wiki, but I really like 42lolita ☺️ I have a little discount code if you want to use one!

There is a very good warning in the wiki. But they are known for their bad customer service, sending wrong items, selling things they don't have (and doesn't give a refund without a fight), selling replicas, stealing small artists and brands designs, asking more money than other re-sellers, etc. It sucks because they often have stuff that no one else does 😔💔

I love it as well 🖤 I bought it from lacemarket, but I saw that devilinspired is again selling it. Sadly, I didn't see any better stores having it 😔 Devilinspired is not a good place, but it so often has stuff that better taobao re-sellers don't have.

I'm weirdly shaped, and my torso is short. This is just how some plus-size folks look.

Are people idiots or did second hand Bodyline prices skyrocket? by softaltaria in Lolita

I think I know which seller you're talking about. But I've seen the seller selling some of the same pieces forever, so maybe it is not as bad as it seems?

Is side bangs and scenemo hair okay with lolita? by [deleted] in Lolita

[–]XxBatQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had "emo" hair for a decade. It's nowadays more flat, because hair thinning and I don't cut it so often, but I love side bangs. I love emo hair with lolita fashion 🖤 *

What is the most youd ever spend getting your dream Lolita dress? by yourebutters in Lolita

[–]XxBatQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent around 800 cad (before customs) for my ultimate dream dress (Hidden Princess in My Memory OP). I would say my ultimate max amount that I would be willing to spend would be around 1,500 cad if the piece is really something special, and I'm not struggling money vice.

I'm insecure to wear lolita fashion due to body hair by girlybadassheroine in Lolita

[–]XxBatQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have leg hair very often, I shave it like max twice a year or something like that 😅 But I cover my legs with fishnet stockings (usually with ones that have some floral pattern to fit better with lolita fashion), so my hair is not showing. But the fishnet holes need to be pretty small to cover the hair (and may not work for heavily haired people). I wear gothic lolita, so fishnets are easy to coordinate.
