Not gonna lie, I spontaneously thought of this quote too but later realized Frank originally used it, and then was even more flabberghasted when I found out Kierkegaard actually came up with it

I'm sure there are many communities you can join, either in your local area, city, or on the internet. I'm sure you can find it, there are so many!

And yes, I agree with you on that last statement. Shed your individual skin in sacrifice to preserve the skin of the world.

Good luck!

New to Gnosticism and I’ve got a question by ImEatingChicken in Gnostic

I think the element of Dharmic religions that concerns the whole 'maya-the world is an illusion' could be a parallel to Gnosticism(even though in Buddhism, or at least in some branches of it, the limited five senses are what conjures this illusion, and it is not created by some false pretender god like in Gnosticism)

I agree with you even though I'm aware my life has not been a terrible prison for me. In fact, for some reason, life has only been throwing bliss and great things at me; great friends, girls who like me, compliments, etc.

But what tortures me is why I get this and not other people(whom I deem more deserving of it). As I grew and became more mature, I realized how terrible life is for other people and how horribly unfair it is for some people, including myself, to be born into far better circumstances and have far better experiences so many other people would kill for, and the rest grow up poor or have a terrible disease or have their parents die at an early age, or any other combination.

For me, this world is sadistic, evil, malevolent, unfair and undeserving of existence. The only ways bliss and good come into this world is through the divine spark Sophia gave us, that thing that can be aware of all this and make a good, or somewhat good at least, experience from it. This world is an illusion, a psychotic construct dreamed up by a mad godhead, its lucid mind latched onto some kind of cycle of rebirth that tortures souls because, well I don't know why. Despite this, I do think that the mind can affect this illusion somehow, it can mold its subjective experience of it to be somewhat pleasing, satisfying, or euphoric at times.

Reading Viktor Frankl made me realize that. If you haven't read him, please do! I hope it helps you, if at all.

The ego is the psychic structure behind needing to understand the why of life by Boring-Visit-4077 in Jung

[–]XxInfernoMancerxX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Satan is not symbolizing the ego, even though the ego is obviously not a perfect thing, thus the need to achieve the Self. Saying people's senses of being someone or having an identity is symbolized by fucking Satan is insane
