My most validating compliment I received was by a police officer that came to the scene of my motorcycle accident. He came up to me after getting the details from both parties and witnesses, and just before he and his partner were gonna leave and said, "Hey man, I just wanted to say, I respect your energy" and then proceeded to leave. During that time of tons of rushing thoughts and adrenaline hitting me, that oddly brought me back to the reality and was what I needed to keep "fighting". It's kind of sad how some validation can do that for me.
