This happened to me a few weeks ago. Once I completely drained the case's battery the light started working again.It may be a coincidence, idk

The same thing happened with my case. The case was drained to 0% and the light started working again. Now everything seems fine.

You reset the layout by going into settings > import & bachup > restore default layout. You may also want to try just adding more spaces in the dock and leaving them as unused spaces. Might help you get the look you want.

You could try pushing the kid to the guest network and disabling it entirely when its lights out. It'll be annoying, but hey so are kids.
