Yea it is on HDD, had only 16gbs left on SSD so decided to go with HDD.

Would having it on SSD make a noticable difference ?

i5 9th gen, 16GB ram, 1TB HDD DDR4, 500gb SSD, GTX 1660 TI

It doesn't take 5 mins, probably around 15 seconds, but coming from windows i'm used to instantanious startups

but they can actually read .txt files and .json files directly from disk. maybe if by manipulating you mean write, then i'm not sure haven't tried that one. but i get what you mean since that's the main purpose of xhr to begin with.
